[Album] Floating through the fifth dimension
« on: January 03, 2014, 21:29:42 »
I've released my album "Floating through the fifth dimension". I'm very proud of this album. Its my first item as a commercial artist.

I've made a presentation video in which I showcase the album's song (total length of 63 minute into a 6 minute presentation).

You can watch/listen to the presentation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcoOe9tMK4k

You can listen to the full length of the songs here: http://music.lpchip.nl and if you like a song, you can find out where to buy it there too. The album is available on spotify too, so if you have that, just search for LPChip and you'll find it.

I have created it into an actual physical CD. If you are interested in buying one, send me a PM and we can work something out. Do note that I can't say how much it will actually cost because I have to look into shipping costs too.

I hope you like it. Any feedback is highly appreciated, also if you don't like a song that much.

Enjoy :)

Also, it would help me a lot if you could like my facebook page :) https://www.facebook.com/pages/LPChip/687363957949842

Now also on BandCamp: http://lpchip.bandcamp.com/album/floating-through-the-fifth-dimension

Your music is the type that my perception of changes all the time. These opinions that I write may no longer be applicable tomorrow. Or in 5 minutes.  :)
The overall feeling I get from this album is... depression

I don't really like "Motion". It just sorta hangs around doing nothing and I find the percussion annoying.  :(

"Expression of Frustration" is annoyingly repetitive. It is what I call "actively repetitive", a repetition that really stands out and grates on the listener.  XD

"Moving On" is light and pleasant.

"In Between" is pretty good.

"Floating Through" is so slow and depressing. It makes me feel... depressed. It's okay. Not bad. Not great.

"Dreaming Onwards" has that depressing mood also, but it does it very well. I rather like it. I think the most dominant part of "Floating Through" stays the same throughout the whole piece, but in "Dreaming Onwards" there is a lot of variance in the dominant part of the music.

"Submerged" is good.

"Alien Contact" just feels like a repeat of previous tracks.

"The New World" is neat. Still depressing, but alive. The guitar sounds great, and I think the percussion worked out very well.

"Just Relax"... I don't really like ambient tracks, but ignoring that... I think the ambient pattern should be varied some... but maybe my opinion on ambient music doesn't count. :D

Thanks Kritter.

My music is indeed made to do something on a far deeper level, so I can understand why this album feels depressed to you at this moment, and thats okay.

Each track has an idea behind it and if the idea of the music is something that plays in your life, that song will resonate with you and will sound great.

Because life changes, the experience will change too. There can be moments when I don't feel like listening to these songs and I get the "meh" feeling as you describe. But if my mood changes, it can happen that this album is awesome. So yeah, I'd say mission accomplished. :)

Pornography seriously it's your site are you serious.

That's how it is with all music.

I feel exactly the same as Kritter on motion and motion of frustration (that fucking dubstep sound please). Just relax and moving on were nice and simple songs but I'd wish they would develop. I'm sensing some early electroinca music as inspiration, you dig the krauts or? I also think that while you have fifth dimension in the title  and talk like some guru as if this is a big musical statement the music isnt very dimensional you should have been more bold and experimental with it.

The pornography thingy is a joke, yes. Not ment as serious. Its just that I have Biography, Discography, and all end with ...graphy, it was fun to add pornography in the list. I'm sure someone who is looking at my site and sees that is both offended and curious at the same time, where curiosity wins and then are relieved. I guess you can call that an inside-joke. :)

As for what I wanted to achieve with the album, I got exactly what I want. There's a bigger story behind it all, but given that I have written that story for the CD, and it would be a bad thing if I shared that here, I'll leave it at that.
