[Misc][Small] Small Containment Problem
« on: December 19, 2015, 16:23:22 »
Hello all!

So I'm also a member of a creative writing site called SCP Foundation. It started as creepy works only, but eventually evolved into general paranormal/weird/interesting/sci-fi/creative works.  8)

Well, around Christmas Time they do a "Secret Santa" where someone does something creative for another randomly-chosen SCP member. Most people do Fanfiction or Artwork, I decided to do a Knytt Stories level! (Hopefully he's not also a member of this site  :^^: )

I had to make it easy so that anyone unfamiliar with KS would still be able to enjoy it. Having said that, I had my wife playtest it, and she knows very little about SCP or Knytt, and she liked it, so I believe anyone should be able to enjoy it.  :)

EDIT: This level has SCP-2660,SCP-2548, and cameos by SCP-1981 and SCP-1193.

Spoiler: (click to show/hide)

You can get the level here. (I used my SCP username, ABETTIK, as my author name for this one.)

Really nice level, short and sweet  :)

I got really into SCP a while back, read a ton of articles. Some really clever stuff on that site! My favorite has to be this one though: http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-426

Hey Bulbs! Glad to see you liked it! Thanks much for doing an LP. It was fun to see my own level being played... felt a little like being famous.  :^^:
EDIT: I also really like the Little voices you give each character. Well done!

I realized I forgot to put anywhere what the SPCs were that I referenced... so I amended the OP with that list.  :S

As for the toaster, yes I am indeed a great SCP, I am one of my favorites also.  XD

That was a short but neat level. I read quite a lot of SCP articles a few years ago, I really like the idea of using these concepts in actual games :) It's a shame a lot of SCP based fangames are usually one of those generic "endless corridor simulators" when there are so many interesting and creative ideas in the archive.

Ah yes! I knew I had seen it in a level before! But I didn't know which! Yes, the credit goes to you for coming up with the original Bravery challenge.

I need to get that lamp out of my head...

Uhh, good level. I'd advise making it a bit less segmented and more congruent next time. Otherwise, good work. I didn't spot any voids or wallswims.

I need to lie down now. Nobody talk about luminous tabletop accessories to me right now.
Things to remember when writing figures of speech and sound:
The power of poetry comes from the ability to defy logic. Defy logic often.

Use a metaphor and tell us that your lover is the sky. Tell us that your lover is the sky. When you do that, we won't believe you. We won't believe you because saying so makes no sense, but we'll see a meaning. We'll see a meaning.

The other thing is the ability to be remembered. Love anything.
