Transparent tile error?

I was using Paint.net to make my tileset. When I loaded my tileset, all the transparent parts of the tiles became black. Whenever I check in Paint.net, it's transparent. Help please?

have you saved it as a .png with alpha channel/the other right settings which I can't remember clear enough to quote here now but which should be findable with a forum search?
