Grammatical error in the signature warning
« on: July 06, 2010, 19:07:32 »
Text surrounded by [stl] tags is replaced with the following:

Quote
This signature has been hidden by a staffmember because its breaking the Official Nifflas Forum Rules. The owner of this signature may edit out the [stl]...[/stl] tag which shows this message in order to fix his signature.

Tip: use

......

to put content next to eachother.

This would be better written as
Quote
This signature has been hidden by a staff member, because it breaks the Official Nifflas Forum Rules. The owner of this signature, after fixing it, may edit out the [stl]...[/stl] tag which shows this message in order to restore their signature.

Tip: You can use

......

to put objects next to each other. For more info, see the 'Help' button.

Terribly sorry for being such a grammar nazi :)

If you wouldn't mind, i press the 'A' key on my keyboard (reference to Dataflashsabot's sig)

However, still, replacing that text isn't a bad idea.

Edit: Whoa, the

For more info, refer to the "Help"-button. tag even works on normal, non-sig posts!

The owner of this signature, after fixing it, may edit out the [stl]...[/stl] tag...
Wouldn't he or she edit out the [stl]...[/stl] during the process of fixing it?

P.S. You don't need to put in the closing tags

if it isn't opened by a . :P
Lurk more.

This signature has been hidden by a staffmember because it breaks the Official Nifflas Forum Rules. The owner of this signature may edit out the [stl]...[/stl] tag which shows this message when fixing their signature.

so that's how I put it now. thanks for noting.
it does work in normal posts simply because it's a custom bbc, and why bother even trying to find a way to disable it for other uses than signature, when only staff members are suppposed to use it anyways.

and please do keep in mind to not stray off topic by signature talk or other insignificant formatting matters.

For the record, Miss Paula's corrected version is as follows:
This signature has been hidden by a staffmember because it breaks the Official Nifflas Forum Rules. The owner of this signature may edit out the [stl]...[/stl] tag which shows this message when fixing their signature.

Tip: use the
tags to put content next to eachother.

He posted it without using the [stl] tags, so that if it's changed again in he future people can know what it once read in times past.

Its a tag used by moderators.

Stl stands for: Signature too long. It hides any text inside it, and replaces it with a text explaining that the signature is in violation with the Official Forum Rules and needs to be changed. Using this method, we can keep a signature in tact, yet hide it.
