How To Save?

i'm new to Knytt Stories and i'm wondering how to save the game because in game when i press down on the light it saves but when i quit the game and come back everything is gone. Could someone please help me with this?

You need to select the level the level you saved it in, and then click on the slot number *there are a total of 3 slots*. Then it loads from the save point you saved it in last.

I tried that but it still says Start New Game. Am I doing something wrong?

i got it working, i didn't have the zip file extracted so it couldn't store the saves I'm such an idot . Thanks anyway 

this reminds me of someone I told about WaDF. they did the same thing and couldn't save, then later they got it unzipped but still asked me how to save in the middle of a level .

AFTER I had told them you can only save at the ends of the forest.
