Title: Picture competition

The object of this game is to post an image under the category chosen by the judge.

This is how a round goes:
First the judge posts a category (like Nature, the nubmer 5, etc), then three to six people post one image each.
The judge picks the one he/she likes the most/fits the category best, and the winner becomes the new judge.

Rules                      
Judging will be done after three pictures have been posted.
When three pictures have been posted you cant post another one; if you do, that picture will be disqualified.
You are not allowed to change your picture if you have already posted one, unless it isn't working, in which case you are only allowed to change to a working version of it.
You can't make a post to reserve space for an image you will add later.
The judge can't participate in his/her own round. (of course)
Put large images in spoiler tags.

Ok, I will be the judge for the first round.  :)
The category is skyscrapers!

Additional rules is more of a common sense thingy: Don't post images that are grose and could possibly make you puke. Also don't post anything related to sex. That does also means that you cannot request for a similar category.

Edit by Razzorman: I didn't put that in the rules because it's already covered by the Official Forum Rules, and I didn't want to be redundant. :P

a rose isn't fragile, except when you drop it in liquid nitrogen. and a tree is also rather bendy. so the only thing barely resembling what I had in mind is the glass. which is why Firecat wins, although the picture has bad quality and little originality. oh well.

find me some pictures of nuclear weapons being detonated, it can be fissure or fusion I don't really mind.
If you can find me a picture that's on the internet of a real test but I have never seen it, it's an instant win.
(you wouldn't know which ones I haven't seen so it's risky trying)

picture 3: Tsar bomba, 50 megatons, detonated by the Russians, the largest bomb to go off and probably will ever go off.

Pumpkin bot, Operation Crossroads with the H-bomb is the most viewed video of an atomic bomb vide on youtube.
Tsar Bomba is the biggest atomic bomb detonated by the Russians and operation trinity (the bomb was called the gadget) was the first atom bomb testing.

I have seen many more pictures and I know exactly how H-bombs and A-bombs work.

hmm, I liked Earthbound's picture but they weren't technically real clouds. It was more of an explosion. Razozorman's was nice but the silhouettes on the clouds really took out the whole "White fluffy" part of the cloud out, so Mathexpert is the winner!

Ok the winners,
Soron's one actually isn't vast enough cause the rocks are in the way lol.
Vinterrun's one is beautiful, but it's a birds eye view which isn't really what I was looking for.
So Razzorman wins because there is a great view of the "Vastness" plus it's in a sunrise which makes it better  :D

Yeah, "defining abstract" sort of contradicts itself.

Still, minmay's picture is the most entirely abstract, as it's not a photo.

I agree, abstraction doesn't have to be a Picasso painting (or some other artist). That's actually called 'Cubism'. And from my point of view, those old paintings of random facees is like abstraction from 50 years ago, now days we have better cameras and tools like photoshop. So I can say that anything goes with abstraction...something that doesn't look real.

  • Dynamite - the most landscape-y of the three, but it's kind of bland - standard fantasy rpg stuff.

OK. I have seen Razzor's image before, though that's not quite why I'm not too impressed, although it is awesome! More because I've also seen all the other pictures from that series, and liked others better. :P2
Kasran's picture is neat, but not to my taste, style-wise.
Vinterrun's is just too creepy. X-P
Minmay's picture reminds me of some other occurance of a sloth in this game (quite a while ago)...cute, but not really sinful. XD
And I've never been incredibly fond of fat, weirdly-shaded, bearded plumbers, so Pumpkinbot doesn't win either.
So that leaves.... 4a! Snow white and the seven deadly dwarves. C)p

yay 48 hours over, five pictures, that's neat.
Soo...I don't quite see the specifically "autumn-ness" in Vinterrun's picture, and most of the others have a rather common motive (path in a forest) (although they all are pretty and colourful), but Dynamite's picture is most outstanding. :D Congrats, you win.

Disappointingly, I can't find decent enough pictures of any of the Mythological Giants / Titans I want to post, so I've opted for a fairly poor quality screencap from Jason and the Argonauts, the second-best film ever made.

I doubt I'll win this round due to the image quality, but I thought I'd share it (along with a video clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdgY9vgRcRw&feature=related) if anyone HASN'T seen this fantastic film). Don't consider the video clip when judging!

Well done, 48 hours are over. Well, I hoped to find some cool stuff about J?tunn Giants, Surt or something else of the northern mythology casue you can find awesome pictures of giant trolls a.s.o.

]. However... PP picture is okay but I don`t like photoshop illustration (it`s the enemy of hand made art  :moody:) and it`s a bit to comic-like.

Bored2deaths picture looks a bit like Power Rangers. I don`t know why but I cannot find any connection between the power rangers and mythology. Maybe I missed something basically in my life, who knows? But with my anwesome wisdom I am forced to the conclusion that your picture is`n the best one for the topic  :P

Utherdouls picture is very. The film is great and a giant made of bronze (isn`t it bronze?) with a cool hat is perfect =D Well, his beard is a bit gay but nobody is perfect.

Might I suggest posting images rather than posting to say the competition's dead...? That might stop it from dying. Though it seems my topis wasn't very popular. It isn't too hard to find images of Brothers Grimm fairy tales. There are some great ones on Deviant Art. ho hum, oh well.

Theiza: that looks like it's from FF10... Drat, now you've got me wanting to play it again ;). I'm a FF freak sometimes... and that happened to be one of my favorite scenes. It's just plain awesome. Oh, and just for those who don't know, nothing inappropriate actually happens in that scene unless you count kissing as inappropriate.

Ok, so, it has been very hard to decide, since all four monsters are very funny and they make me wonder what on earth was their creator smoking at the time..

First the vampire frog. The first thing I did when I saw it was to nearly choke with my coffee because of laughter. I'm not sure whether that's because of the plain weirdness of that combination or the fact that it's supposed to look menacing and fails soooo bad. 

Got to give credit to the Flumph for being a lawful good floating octopus whose eyes seem to come out of its mouth (I wonder how it smites evil)

Also the duckbunny that seems to hunt in packs by daytime (must be really hard to run with those feet so does it dive for fish in the water? Isn't its fur soaking wet then? No wonder it has that annoyed look)

Still, the gelatinous cube would be exactly what I would choose for this competition. At least the other three were some sort of animals and at least a small amount of brain effort was put into creating them... but this.. this large piece of green jelly that devours people for unknown reasons wins cake :D

So, the grand winner is Razzorman with the gelatinous cube.

Since this game has died so many times now, I'm going to remove the "6 pictures or 42 hours" rule, and go back to 3 pictures. The problem might be that it takes too long to play a round.

Hm... Its hard to decide between Razzorman's and LimeLemon. Dataflashsabot's is interesting, but you can't really see the image on the balloon very well.

Razzor's is a nice view of sundown (or sunrise) against a leafless tree in a snow covered field. LimeLemon's is a cool use of light that shows movement.

Um... I'm just going to go with LimeLemon's, since Razzor did the last round.
