Title: [Environmental/Misc] [Easy/Normal] [Small] [KS+] Thee Fault
Post by: Lit Knob on June 11, 2022, 07:21:20
At first I was just practicing, but it eventually evolved into an actual level.
I started it 4 months ago but got sidetracked by maps and playing other levels. Then I started finishing Ego's templates.
It's not actually my first level, but my second one (the first one is unfinished too, and I decided to swap them because… reasons).

It's mainly a showcase of the best (in my opinion) default tilesets.
I think it can be described as a mix of An Attempt at Art, Vanilla, and Juni Gets a Food, but it's structured like a treasure-hunt of sorts.

The story is a bit non-existent but self-explanatory:

A sequence of radically different worlds (merely glued together by coincidentally aligned collision) is bridging the gap between the two halves of Juni's apartment. In order to reach the right side, she has to witness all possible variants of those places.

I'd say it's about 70% done, but it's hard to tell.

Sounds interesting. I'm really curious about your level, especially after you've made all those templates.

Thanks Polana.
I'll probably use some, but it's called Thee Fault for a reason. :P

I like the look of the screens, classic yet fresh

Thanks ixMarcel.
About that, did you know that if you "sync" tileset and gradient numbers, you get the correct combination?
That's how I chose gradients. For example, Tileset6 - Gradient6.

I agree with Marcel. The screenshots feel like I've seen them before but at the same time feel like something brand new. So good job with that. Looking forward to this.

Thanks Purple Ink. When making those screens I was both "pretending to be Nifflas" and applying all the "designer" knowledge I've gathered since 2015 (when I started learning Blender as a hobby).

My original goal, when I started this level, was to practice with default tilesets to match Nifflas' style.
It seems I succeeded. :)
