Well, I think it's finally time I ALSO unveil MY mystery project to the world, as well. I've been keeping this under wraps for almost THREE years, and we're at a point where I can finally shine some light on it without it being a buggy piece of junk.
This is the demo to the long-awaited SEQUEL to the KS level that everyone has at least played once in their pathetic lives. And I know what you're thinking: "SC, how does this make this a sequel and not a fangame?" Good question! It's because
this sequel has the blessing of UncleSporky himself. That's RIGHT, after disappearing into the aether for almost a decade after publishing the original DETM, I somehow happened to find them in an IRC channel back in 2015 and we've been collaborating ever since!
But that's not what's important. What's important is the level that you're about to download has been changed DRASTICALLY from the original DETM, and we think this is for the better. It's still quite a ways away from being fully finished, but I feel putting a demo out will give you just a brief taste of what's to come. (It only contains the prologue and the first chapter, so.)
The full version of the level will feature*:
- Over 1000 screens and an open world
- Three different endings, depending on the dialogue choices you made
- Seven Legendary Mushrooms to collect!
- Brand-new tilesets and music created specifically for the level
- Ten new FULLY-CUSTOM enemies, never seen in a level like this before!
- Three fully-operational boss battles!
- A fully voice-acted protagonist (in the cutscenes, at least)!
