Title: [Very Hard/Lunatic] [Large] [Challenge] Regina's Adventure
Post by: Purple Pineapple on December 25, 2017, 05:01:12: Another large level I started years ago, but only just now found the motivation to complete. Unlike my other Very Hard levels, this one starts out easy, and then slowly climbs in difficulty over the course of 396 screens, culminating in a Very Hard/Lunatic final area. My ultimate goal for the level ended up being to include every object from every bank (except for 255 of course). This means that you will encounter every single enemy in Knytt Stories in this level. Other than that, there's not much story to this level. Just enjoy the scenery and the challenges!

Unfortunately, it doesn't have unique music for most of the level, so it wouldn't get very high marks anyway :P

Did you use that aesthetic specifically so you could pull off that fakeout by the updraft?

I'm not sure what you mean by fakeout. That area was made several years ago, though, so a lot of what I thought were clever design decisions turned out to be very bad design decisions.

Clearly it was not considered that I could simply doublejump over and up from this wa- Doh!

Haha, no, that was purely an aesthetic choice, but it's funny to hear that it had that effect. x)

Post by: jeanbeane on February 01, 2018, 00:07:56: I am really enjoying this level. But now I'm stuck after meeting Karel. He told me to journey to the clouds and gave further instructions. I have tried several locations, but don't know where the journey to the clouds should take me before I follow his instructions. Please tell me where I should go in the clouds.

Have you got the umbrella? If not, remember that pillar with the porcupine in it? Jump to the left to find blocks in the air leading to a sky castle. (If you're already there, if you see houses, you're in the right vicinity.)

If (or once) you do, you're set to follow the rest of Karel's instructions. Travel the ceiling a few screens above Karel to the right. You'll know you're near the entrance by the ghost-passage indicators lighting up the right of the screen. Karel's instructions will be a little tricky to execute (but rather quicker than you'd expect).

I follow Karel's instructions "right, down, left, left, down, left, up, down" by going to the screen to the right, then to the screen down from that, then to the screen to the left, etc. I know I must be interpreting something wrong because I don't get to Karel's village.

You need to be near the top of the screen for the last couple steps. Double-jump is your friend here.
