Well I guess what I had in mind was sharing the pictures of the secrets within spoilers. So one opens whichever they feel like. If someone spots one they want to know about they can PM the poster. Rather than this being a thread about how to find secrets. I don't know, Nifflas did say he wanted secrets to spread by word of moth so maybe we should just make this tread for that.

Please note that there's exclusive content for the PS version. I believe Purple Ink posted this. So please include on which console/machine you played. Can be PC, Playstation or mac, where the PC and mac have the same content, and the PS has the same too plus some secret additional content.

Well, if we're allowed to post spoilers, I'll post one I just discovered.

One of the pixies in the village tells you that there's a pixie village beneath the Infinite Darkness.  What he says may be essentially true, though I haven't gone through it to actually find the end.  It is, by all appearances, the most difficult part of the game.

It isn't on the map.  It's actually below the map.  It's below where you find the pixie at 38,29, which is on the bottommost part of the map towards the right, in an area that you drop from above and can go left and right (the pixie is on the right end) - look behind the pixie on the ground.  As I said above, it is an absurdly difficult challenge.  Also, some of the lightbeams are there, so if you're having trouble collecting all 60, keep in mind that some of them aren't even on the map.  So there.

I'm actually kind of proud of this one.

If you remember somebody talking about hearing music in the Infinite Darkness, there is music in the infinite Darkness, if you can but find it.

If you look along the bottom three rows thoroughly enough, you'll find a horizontal area that doesn't appear accessible from any vantage, towards the right area of the map (close to the area mentioned in the spoiler above).  You can access it from the righthand side.  Jupiter's monologue is hilarious.  And remember - do NOT tell anybody about Dance Club.

It was hard, actually, like 7/10 hard... Spent 2 hours there.

I think I went under the map in a different place...? Mine was a huge horizontal path, with a save point midway, and a button at the end. The button made an earthquake, but I didn't notice any map changes...

I sincerely doubt Nifflas would put something so tempestuous, vast, and oblique as the Disorder without putting something there you can't get to but from there.  I mean something other than scenery, which obviously is there as well.

then you'll know that at least one paradimension can stabilize if you've got the right stuff.  It's possible your presence in the Disorder might similarly stabilize.  Somehow, I find it unlikely, though, given the number of crystals you find in the game.

I think them + viewing the secret ending opens door in one place. Look for entrance on the lowest level of map, it's not far from entrance to Figure.

that is hidden next to the sheep room is... weird. There is a black dot hanging around in the middle, but it just jumps off as you get near. Also can't make it jump away from the middle, because it does not climb walls. Any ideas? Is this yet another secret, or just a hidden room with no purpose?

Once you are on the very first screen of the game (the one before the title screen and chapter select), go down the well and jump on the small ledge to the right, which is just there at the entrance point. There is a hidden passage that leads to a room with another hidden passage, which in turn leads to the sheep.

After that, go to the right to find another secret passage, which leads to the spiral.

Here's a neat little secret I found (PC version only) which I haven't seen mentioned yet:

Underneath the chapter 3 entrance is a secret area with several other secret rooms attached to that chamber. Most of them are just little challenges for challenge sake, but one of them leads to one of my favorite secrets of the game, in which we find out a bit more about Mi and her future.

I'm getting very stuck accessing the extreme top-left and extreme bottom-left.

I can get into room 2,1 (I guess; over 2, down 1) barely but cannot imagine how to get farther. I can enter a room full of lava in the bottom row a couple over via secret entrance but don't think there's a way to enter there, only exit, but I cannot find an entrance to that region.

Regarding the Disorder I really hope there's a way to dramatically increase visibility.

Yes there is, but you really have to think outside the box to do that.

If you mean exploring the topmost row, you'll have to approach that from the right side. Then you'll eventually come across a couple of flight powerups in that same row that will help you cover the rest of the distance to the leftmost rooms.

@Dj Gopher, sorry, I can't quite remember. There was a question mark icon I noticed on my map and I believe it was in one of the long corridors in that area. He was in front of a small house in a bright area. Sorry I can't be more help. If the map is revealed and there's no question mark, maybe there's a way you have to trigger him.

@SiamJai, whoops. Thanks for the help though. Hope I can work out the Disorder a bit better. Now to figure out what to use my triangles, puzzle pieces, and spheres for.

The top-left area is one of the hardest parts in the game, and there are a few ways to beat it actually.

Spoiler: If you've given up, here's a hint (click to show/hide)

You start from the right. There's this water area with a monster in it, and you have access to a green powerup.

The first hint is this: You can pick up the powerup as a ball too. You only need to be in Mi form to use it.

Spoiler: Okay, so you have tried everything but still can't do it? Here's a big hint. (click to show/hide)

You can pick up that power-up twice and if you reuse the power soon enough it will activate the second instance too.

As for SiamJai's claim that there is another way around, I believe Nifflas removed it from the game, but if he hasn't it was only in the PC version, not the playstation version I believe. Not to mention that it is incredibly hard, and I mean incredibly hard!!!

On the PS version, there is an alternate way of making it to the top left corner rather than relying on the green light (indeed, I didn't even know the green light was useful for the purpose until you pointed out how - I never got that far working on the problem).  It can be exceptionally frustrating trying to go this route, and with hindsight it might be easier just to use the green light.

You'll have to take a wider view of the map and know the terrain really well.

Spoiler: Solution (click to show/hide)

Go to the right, down the tracks, until you reach the entrance to Utopioca, then go farther until you see a blue light.  That's the light you'll be using, but you can't use it from there.  If you've been paying attention, you'll notice a lot of obstacles along the way.  You need to be a ball and bounce (for speed) to the left until you're past the entrance to Utopioca.  Once you're standing on the tracks, if you've gone far enough, you have just barely enough time to fire the blue light.  Note that if you fall into Utopioca, you can't go back out the same way - you have to go the long way around.  Also note that you'll probably fail a few times thanks to bouncing off of the obstacles coming down from the ceiling.

I also managed with the blue orb and completely ignored the green orb. With the green I had been able to get a long bounce into the second screen before using it, but would drop in the third. Thanks for the help though.

Does anyone know how to get to the Red Forest? I know there's a glitch(?) in one of the Figure rooms where you can go through a wall of death and get into a void and get teleported to the Mysterious forest. However, I've heard someone mentioning that Nifflas said there's an actual proper way of going to the mysterious forest. If so, anyone got any idea on how to get there?

Augh, nevermind the following. I figured it out. Not what I'd hoped for.

Reading about the red forest, which I'd never seen, I decided to give the Infinite Black another go. I had reached the sprite and tail village previously just in covering the full map, but figured it would be easier to further explore than Figure Space. I managed to get further.

I found a passage under the village that eventually led to a lava-heavy area, which stumped me briefly after I hit a white switch which seemed to do nothing other than cause a visible earthquake (but acc. to my map that opened no passages out of the main area and I've revealed the map entirely otherwise so anything else would be unnecessary). I then found another hidden passageway that led me into a rectangular room that is apparently a dead end. I bounced and climbed it throughly and could find no other exit.

Also, regarding game files:
I was terrifically excited to find the music in the install folder. The Underwater Lab Tune is one of my favorite game tunes in a long time. And . . .

I was finally able to find my save files, since I will need shortly to move them onto my desktop computer, but when I found them I noticed, upon comparing them to some files in the install directory, that I could easily totally change my save. I wasn't interested in that, but I was more interested in another modification I attempted and at which I succeeded. You can change your character sprite to that from Chapter 1, the Epilogue, Juni, or the character from the Chowdren level besides Mi's default ceremonial garb. Also, one can easily permanently blacken the character in the Chaper Select area's style. I wonder if there is a more acceptable way to pull this off. If not, I hope Nifflas keeps this capacity because I prefer the Chapter 1 and Epilogue outfits to the normal Chapter 3 one.

I just spent a whole bunch of crystals just to get to the four rooms and place my triangles and spheres there waiting what will happen but nothing did... which is very disappointing. :(

As I thought getting to the forest was much easier, but the trick I tried to use is still interesting and can be of use for custom levels.

Okay, within the Mi Future. When you get to the first screen with floors that turn red, you go off to the left and up a hidden passage. This takes you to a room with a very challenging jump on those red turning tiles. There are then a few other challenges before you can leave, locking the door behind you with a green block.

Well, you can't exactly light it up completely and/or permanently, as far as I know. There are various tips spread about the game that will help you navigate it, though. Most of them are given by those Epsilon creatures.

You can access it once for each crystal you have and once you do, you can stay there for a limited time. About 1 min, I think. If you stand still, the darkness will slowly dissipate but, of course, you will be losing precious time. To get out elsewhere, you must stand still on top of one of the various scribblings on the floor. That covers everything I know about navigating the Disorder. There are also some secrets to be found there...

You can do it once or twice, which is explained in the game somewhere. Just stay still for a moment and it'll recharge.

Achievements are separate from chapter saves, meaning you can replay to your heart's content.  Also, once you find out how to get that specific achievement, you can get it very quickly after starting over.

Also, regarding achievements, I have a question about the knight helmet one in the picture I posted.  It appears to replace the Heroic Dance achievement from the PS3 version, as the mini-chapters are not in the PC one.  My question is, I can't really remember how I got it.  For some reason I think it had something to do with the

Actually, putting a secret passage up in the first screen of the interlude was a suggestion of mine. Nifflas didn't plan that spot to be accessible. That's why I got a mention in the end of that section. :)

So I just reset chapter 1 to check out that black hole, but then I noticed that Utopioca doen't look that hard to get in to. After trying a bit with the green flowr near by I managed to get in, but it seems it just sends you into part 3 with your part 1 stuff. It seems to have reset my map too though.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem like the you can go anywhere after you get kicked out to Dr. flip-flop's place.

Oh yeah, I was using the Vita version for this.

Edit: I just misread my map. It's all there.

I found a new way to abuse the esc button! During those challenges from the chapter select area, when there are lasers and kill tiles that activate by music, they don't activate at all if you press esc just before hand.

Also I am giving up, can someone please point me to the tiny figure.

Yes, I felt the same when I saw those pictures in the first post. Serve only to spoil the fun for those who want to see all secrets by themselves. Instructions how to find (or better just hints) are the opposite, because there's no other way to find a secret in the huge world after the game is completed except with guidance.
This video however may contain a hind if lit disorder is related to unlimited light beam. Is it?

So you can see that spilling the beans outright wouldn't be of any use to most 'ordinary' players but it'd kill the sense of discovery that's the core fun of this sort of diy-thing. For now the vid is meant only as a curiosity. Hopefully details will eventually emerge by word of moth from somewhere else. In the meantime, if it makes me 'uber-cool' in your eyes, I guess I'll just have to live with that. X)

I see how the jump is meant to work, and I've attempted it several times, but I consistently come up a few pixels short of the ledge. Two separate guide videos have shown it being cleared with a huge margin, starting apparently less altitude than I've managed.

Is there something special about dropping from the exact spot in the left-hand channel, or am I just terrible, or is something wrong here?

I wouldn't start out in the channel.  I start out bouncing in place right where the red power up is.  Then, at the apex of your bounce, transition to Mi and use the power up to achieve a higher point.  Switch back into the ball on the way back down where you'll collect the red power up again and switch to Mi at the apex and use the power up.  Rinse and repeat until you get high enough to clear the ledge.

What I had to do was, when switching to Mi after getting the most height I could, rather than blowing the powerup, I'd cling to the wall on the right and climb that to get that bit of extra height I needed.

I made myself a nice little teleporter by manipulating player's x and y position directly in memory.

If that's the only dialog option you see, then you have already spoken to it as much as you could. Before this, there was a bit of exchange between that tail and Cilia, followed by an argument between Dora and Cilia - and that's all there is to this part.

Are you playing on PS? The PC version doesn't have a quest list, so I can't tell for sure, but I found (http://www.destructoid.com/blogs/Solar20XX/knytt-underground-explore-another-of-nifflas-atmospheric-world-241476.phtml) what looks like a screenshot with two of the quests you are looking for. Looks like they are indeed quests from other chapter(s).

(PC Version) I believe there was a secret entrance off of the right of the "Erase Save Data" for Chapter 1, but I can't get in anymore, even from a fresh install with no save files. It was a small area with a series of Toasts per screen (each with a pithy quote from Nifflas and various martini/cocktail glasses)...

Yup, right above the light beam works, on all my installs! I know why I thought it was to the right of the save point: I was kinda sleepy last night, and had a bit of flu medication on board...so I was extra surprised (and a little more magical than usual) when I found this one! ...Lu, the crazy tail. Those three crystals are all that she has, and each costs three coins. She is in [13,7] (upper left quadrant), marked by the letter "T" on the map once you talk with her.

It's unlikely then, that the encounter would be dependent on whether you met her earlier or bought stuff from her - but this is KU, so who knows, maybe it is. X-P

Having now visited the second museum, this is a good tip. Look for an opening in the ceiling that looks almost unreachable.

I basically know where Museum 2 is, even though I can't reach it yet (which is annoying, naturally) but Museum 1 is still a closed book... er, "educational resource" ...to me. Can anyone confirm or deny:

The museum is only in the win/mac/linux version, but you can get a free copy of it if you have the ps3/vita version. It is in Chapter 3. It's not in the room with the robots standing in the water above Rob's house, but it is pretty close (one room left, one room up from it).

Judging by how you explored almost every single nook and cranny in your LP, I thought you'd expected there to be more secrets instead. :) Admittedly I couldn't have discovered a lot of secrets without help or the editor, but Nifflas intended the game to be like that, with several people sharing which secrets they found.

The blue protective orb adds 10 seconds to the time it takes before you can not create new light in the disorder.

Does completing the secret challenge with the music-synced transformation give you access to the ball in the menu? I can't tell if it did, seeing as I already activated the ball through brute force...
If not, is there anything else in the menu besides

Saml: I don't think the secret challenge you mentioned gives you access to the ball in the menu.

Here is how I gained access to the ball in the menu:

Go over to the rightmost part of the update area above the menu. Using the platforms here, you can access a secret passage in the ceiling.

I love this kind of stuff, so I made a little compilation of loading zones you're not supposed to be able to reach in chapters one and two. There were a couple more I think it's possible to get to, but unfeasibly difficult for a human. I also included the terrible secret at the top of the waterfall in the inifinity hype update. Enjoy! edit: it's worth noting, for the bounce arkum discovered (which was the first one of these tricks to be found), you can go off the top of the screen to the right too.

It's very difficult to read. It's actually not proper text at all but an image of a tiny text, so it cannot be read from game dialog files. Doesn't benefit much from zooming in, either. Gets too blurry.
