Heh, it's finally done! Navigate Juni the cartographer around Myskglurgisk Grottglufs so she can map the planet.

There are six secrets: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Then, there's two very hidden ones I'm not telling you about. >)

Not much else to say except...have fun! Oh, and if the .bin doesn't work, then use the .zip and extract everything to the Worlds folder.

Looks great! Cant wait to try it.

Edit: Great level. I especially liked the music, as well as the variety of tilesets and very creative worlds.
However, some areas seemed a bit disjointed :/

This is a decent level. It feels like a compact Gaia.

Like Gaia, I think this level spreads itself too thin. The wide variety of environments is impressive, but none of these environments is particularly well-established. As StaticRomantic mentioned, many of the area transitions feel kind of arbitrary. Most all the transitions located to the right of the starting point are pretty good, but the ones on the left feel odd. The sewer/red planet one is especially random. There are also a few places where the tilesets (and environment) just change when you enter a new screen, which always comes across to me as sort of lazy: there's no real transition, just a quick change. In those places where there is an actual transition where the environments almost overlap, the transitions are handled well, however.

Overall, I was disappointed that the custom object use just dropped off more or less totally after sailing on the pirate ship. The custom objects that are used, though, are used well- they work to establish the environment rather than just draw attention from it with their novelty. I was also disappointed that there were so many unenterable buildings. The whole city area felt shallow to me, because I only got to see the exteriors of the buildings. I especially wanted to enter the castle in the sky, as the area surrounding it feels like it's building up to the castle- but then I get there and the doors are locked.

There weren't many bugs I found. I only found one outright SGE (see attachment). On the pirate ship, when anchored at the city area, the enter and exit sounds for the door to the bar are wrong: I think the enter sound is like the default shift sound, and the exit sound is the switch. The wind-wallswim effect thing under the floaty cloud area ends with Juni trapped in a solid cloud, with no escape. (Maybe this is deliberate.) There were a number of things that felt "off", though, without being actual bugs. Being able to walk behind the queen bee, after having walked in front of all the worker bees, was weird. In the city, there was inconsistency in whether doors and windows had sidewalk in front of them, or the sidewalk sloping off before going in front of the door/window.

The plot felt rather tacked on, and was a lot like Gaia's plot. (Neither plot ever really goes anywhere. Probably. I didn't find an ending in this level, though, so maybe there is a conclusion to the plot. I found two secret areas, one of which had a key and a symbol, which I took to imply there was a secret ending.) Also, though the opening cutscene says the planet is called "Myrsomething Grottglufs" or something, when one returns from Niffanne Beta, it calls the planet "Earth".

So. Although I did run into all the aforementioned little wrinkles in the level, I enjoyed it. The music fit the areas well (or at least didn't jar with them), and it was neat to see some tilesets that haven't been used much.

X) Whoops! Let's see how many others recognise that mistake. EDIT: Oh, and I didn't have Juni enter any of the buildings in Suburbia because I seriously suck at designing the insides of buildings. They always seem empty and bare. :/

And thanks for the criticism. I'll keep it in mind for my next level (though it will most likely be a challenge).

EDIT: And about that SGE...I'll fix it, but since Mediafire's so slow, I'm going to wait for other SGEs to be reported.

So far its a great level and I found some secret areas but I also found a wallswim area, other than that this was one of the best environmental levels I have ever played :)

I liked this level bunches. Kept me busy for over an hour. Found all the  secrets etc. Really is like Gaia but different in it's own way. Music was very appropriate. Beautiful environmental level. Pats on the back for you.

 I'm not a level maker so I usually don't have too many technical critisisms but...

in the place where the air bubbles are in a column going up to the white clouds which then leads you ultimately to the four buttons, if you jump down and then jump into the bubbles you swim up and get stuck. Was that intentional?

The only other thing, and it's minor, I miss

Acually, that's not an SGE. The blue area is "The Other Side of the World." That means Juni would come out upside-down, so I had put an upside-down'd version of the first screen of TOSotW then the right side up'd version to simulate Juni flipping around to land right-side up. I put that there because that would make Juni able to go everywhere else upside-down, which would disagree with the boundaries of both the level editor and gravity. But, as I'm typing this, I found a better way of fixing this. :)

EDIT: Fixed all posted glitches/SGE's.
EDIT2: @lamarblake: No, it wasn't. It...broke. I'll fix it.

No, there's no Win tile. It's an environmental, so it's not necessary, though some environmentals still have it. And I mainly added that small plot because people were arguing about my last environmental, The Terrain Deviates, didn't have a plot. :/

@ Farik: Well, it has a lot of custom ambiance (19 tracks), a lot of custom objects (23 pictures, 25 CO tags in the .ini), and a lot of tilesets (24 of 'em), so yeah, the filesize is gonna be huge. X)

Hm... I don`t think that it is a good idea to use a walktrough.
Particulary in TMG you`ll find small hints to come to the secret areas.
You should use `em =D

I really like this level! Love the custom objects. I wish I could make those, but I fail at animating. The worlds were really cool, they were different from other levels. I wish you could enter the castle though. Some areas felt kind of empty and small, however. Actually, many of them felt like that. I found some of the secrets, but I looked in the editor for one of them. :oops:

There is something I'm not getting about installing this level...

I can't find a .bin anywhere for this level and when I tried to extract the .zip to the worlds folder, all I got was a blank level in the game.

I know I am missing something obvious here....what is it?

Make sure you didn't unzip the file to something like "Knytt Stories\Worlds\Pumpkinbot - The Mysterious Grotto\Pumpkinbot - The Mysterious Grotto". It just needs to be "Knytt Stories\Worlds\Pumpkinbot - The Mysterious Grotto". Otherwise you have a folder in your worlds folder that has nothing but another folder in it. KS will read this as a blank level.

UnZip challenged people...... like me!  :nuts: I have done everything that you have told me to do Miss Paula, and I also did the advice that was given from up above my head...but I STILL cannot play this level, because either #1. I do not know how to open up the folder that the extracted file went into, or #2. After I followed the instruction from above, I cannot find it.  O_o

I am not a 20, or 30, or 40 year old Whipper Snapper. I am a 58 year old women, who was not teethed on Computers. But if you if you need a tube replaced in the old televsion sets of the 50'and into the 60's, then I am your women! :whoa:

Someone please, tell me what to do exactly after I have Extracted the files from WIN. So far I have 2 folders on my desktop. When I attempt to open them up, I do not get the level. I get different names of screen shots I guess.

I'll put up a .bin, but I doubt it'll work. Knytt Stories doesn't seem to like custom objects.

You rock Ramara! I'm coming out of the "age closet" too. I'm a 55 year old man who loves Knytt stories. Unfortunatly I'm not that versed in unzipping files either. I just wanted to let you know you're not alone.  ;) You know, we might be the "elders" in this group. I suspect there are more players under the age of 20 than any other age group. But it's all good. That's what makes this interesting.

You change the tubes in old TV sets and I'll replace the belts on turntables!

However, I think I didn't quite manage to finish it, or rather, I'm not sure if I did - maybe it's really supposed to end that anticlimactically?

Yes, the rum was there. :) And, yes, there was no ending. But you did get all the keys, right? If so, PM me.

Open up the editor and see what I did. I made a shift to an identical screen where it took away climb on shift and had invisible blocks, stick tiles, and nojump tiles on that column. It's also used in Ascension.
