Title: [Challenge/Environmental] Juni's Great Adventures 2
Post by: Mirror Sound on June 27, 2012, 20:26:41
Hello again! :D
After releasing the fixed, (mostly) bug-free version of JGA1, I decided to start a little work on the 2nd level (out of three). A screenshot out of one of the (already finished) areas can be seen below.
Spoiler: Plot/story (click to show/hide)
There will likely be a beta release (in about one or two months, so be patient). If you don't know who the children that need Juni's help are, play Juni's Great Adventures 1, wich is available at the KS Level Archive.
Thank you!

Eh, ground looks flat and boring. There's also not much of a background. :v
It could easily be turned into an amazing level, just needs a few aesthetic changes. :P

Ah, looks like you've got an actual story going on here, and it draws from the first level, too!

Needless to say, I will beta test for you, if you will have me.

Thank you, Fubaka. *gives star* I'm glad you like the fact the story draws from the first level. :)
Pumpkinbot, this was just a preview screenshot. The 2nd level will definatley be more challenging than the first one.

Also, I would need someone who would make the intro and ending scenes for me, as I'm pretty awful at making those

I can do that!  Just send me a script of some kind through PM, as well as any other specifications on how you want the scenes done.

Thanks again, Fubaka. I'll send you the necessary screenshots and scripts in a PM. :)
EDIT: Just figured that can't send screenshots.

LEVEL PROGRESS UPDATE
I have started working on the biggest area in the level: China. It will have a lot of caves, waterfalls and such (Nature FX), and all challanges will happen in that area. You can't enter China without a passkey (as seen in a previous screenshot). The level will also end in that
area. EDIT: The China area will also have an all-custom soundtrack in it (placed in as an ambience song tough, as the track only plays for about six minutes, and having that track in the song area would be ridiculous as the China area is the biggest in the level).
 A screenie is below:

Run: revive.exe
Revive.exe runned.
Now reviving thread.
I reckon the level around 50% done now. It should be released around... let's say end of august. I might make another level whilst working on JGA2, and a combined version of JGA2 and 1. Anyways, screenshot:

Nitpicking! That "tough" in the sign bubble should read "though", and you might want to put a semi-colon (instead of a comma) after "seems" as well.

Looks very boring. Listen to pumpkinbot, he has a good point. Your screens lack background, detail and objects.
I think it'd be totally worth it if you focus more on making every screen pretty, because otherwise people will get bored with your level. Which would be a shame since it doesn't sound bad at all.

I first want to focus on the main stuff (paths, enemies etc.) of every screen, then on the decoration, but thank you for your suggestions. :)
