Title: Halloween's coming up!

As with Christmas, it's time to jazz your avatar up!
Make it scary. Make it bloody! Make it vampiricly awesome!
It's only a week away!

There's no reason to confuse christmas with halloween, even though oct(31) == dec(25) :D

Speaking of Halloween, I wanted to dress up as Waldo (Wally, for you UKers) and go hide somewhere.

Last year, I was a zombie. I had big gashes painted on my face and a shirt with a huge spike sticking through it. (Rubber spike attached to the front and back.) Loved it. Can't find it anywhere anymore. <_<

There used to be a forum rule forbidding animated avatars (though exceptions were made for individual cases, mostly on the basis of "we think it's okay" - Paula's avatar, for example).  Paula's new, rather more attention-grabbing avatar reminded me of this, so I checked the rules and noticed that rule was gone.

ohh, hihi. well, it's not in the official rules, which have been in effect for a quite long time now, so yeah. I actually wonder if we really had that rule or just a discussion about instating one like that. And I think I remember posting that everybody could just adblock avatars (or signatures, for that matter -those can be even more annoying, because bigger and more at once) if they really bothered them...hmm. anyways, the rules that are listed in the Official Forum Rules apply, nothing else but perhaps (the sadly all-too-uncommon) common sense, I'd say. :P
and I should probably change my avatar back because halloween is over anyways.
Edit: and I suppose I can attach the old one too

Actually, you can disable both entirely in your profile options.

Anyway, after a quick search I haven't found anything about that animated avatar rule, so I suspect it was on the pre-crash forum.  Or maybe I'm just confused.

As far as I know, we never had this rule. The only thing that ever happened, was when someone had this very annoying flashing avatar, which we removed because it was too annoying. Perhaps you've seen this as: I cannot use animated avatars at all. Its just one of those: it makes sense to not post annoying things, issues.

oh, I know that, but usually I do like to see the avatar (and to a lesser extend the signatures) of the persons who post -easy visual identification. :)
