Title: The Smarts Game
Post by: TheDarkOne on August 21, 2010, 01:23:12
This is a game I picked up...

Basically, someone thinks up a situation that is hard to get out of/solve... And then we solve it!  :D

Example:

P1:My pencil... is in the principals' office
P2: Solution: Hire a spy to spy on the office and notify a pencil-in-office retriever
Problem: my ear is stuck in a fishes mouth.

Get it?

If you don't, this is supposed to be a game like this setup:

A teacher is teaching a architecture class about height of buildings. He hands out barometers and says, "I want each of you to come up with a way to measure the height of a building with nothing but a barometer." One student raises his hand and says, "Climb up the building and throw it off. Count how many seconds it takes for it to hit the ground, then use the formula for finding the velocity of things by gravity to figure out how fast it's going, then use your earlier data to find out the height." Another says, "Give the building's owner a barometer in exchange for how high the building is?"

Your answers can be humorous, fun, or just smart, whatever you want! Just remember to post another problem afterwards!

Spoiler: (click to show/hide)

I'll start: My pencil is stuck in the sharpener.

I couldn't find a similar game, although I have the idea that there is one.

I will allow this, but only if the solution people post will make sense, and not use some kind of surreal or sciencefiction answer. For that reason, please do not post a problem that is not possible to solve either.

Problem: My pencil is stuck in the sharpener.
Solution: I turn the pencil to sharpen it and at the same time, I pull it out.

Problem: I want to cross a street, but there's lots of traffic on the road that doesn't seem to stop for me.

EDIT: Yukabacera's post got deleted because its not playing the game. If you think its boring, just don't play.

Solution: I throw a grenade into the middle of the road, causing a horrific car crash but allowing you to cross safely.
Problem: LPChip's over-zealous moderating is getting ridiculous.

Solution: He gets pulmonary edema (cardiogenic, if you need to know).
Problem: I have to get to work on time, but my car is broken, I don't have enough money for a bus or taxi, and it's too far to walk.

(Gee, this is SO interesting!)

=|=

Solution: Steal a car.  If you don't know how to pick car locks, steal a bicycle instead.
Problem: We're going to get this thread locked.

Solution: stop posting problems that call for violence, robbery, or anything like that. (Actually, yeah...)
Problem: My pencil is stuck on mount everest!

Solution: SF's ka-splode-ifying flatulence will make it roll off the Mount Everest.

...but only if the solution people post will make sense, and not use some kind of surreal or sciencefiction answer.

Okay then...

Solution: SF's hands will make it roll off Mount Everest.
Problem: Nobody but StraightFlame actually makes any progress in the forumgame The Messville Chronicles.

Surreal answers are the only funny ones. Sure, it wouldn't be orderly with surreal answers allowed, but it isn't fun without them.

Solution: StraightFlame's internet connection goes down, allowing everyone else to get ahead. < See, this isn't funny!
Problem: I've lost my house keys! Oh dear, however shall I get in? I am in a pickle, aren't I? I wonder what the presumably hilarious (but sensible and realistic) solution will be!

Solution: I go over to my nearby shed and unlock it with my shed key, then take my conveniantly placed welding tool and slightly melt the tip of my shed key. I then press the points and pinch it in a way that resembles what my house key looked like, go over to my house, and unlock the door.
That is actually possible, you know.

Problem: There's someone stalking me wherever I go.

Solution: When they get close enough, say, "Hiya, stalker! Is your job not very good?" and grin.
Problem: Now the stalker's stalking me.

Solution: I lock the stalker in my anti-gravity chamber dungeon basement.
Problem: I'm being taken to court for illegally holding a prisoner.

Solution: Phoenix Wright am defense.

Problem: This isn't Japan/a GBA game/both. Wright can't be the defense.

'cause everyone's making their problems from their solutions. :/

I indeed think this game has had its go, and it didn't work out.

Sorry, but since its similar to Getting Higher now, and people complain more than participating, I see no reason to keep the game open. You tried it, and it worked for a small bit... Next time better.
