Title: the outer rim (third party pack) help

i'm on 6 coins and i can't figure out how to get the 7th, i've narrowed it down to two possible rooms:

the first one is the room with the bread slice/crash monster that you have to race with the blue slidey block. i got the coin in this room, but there is a door below which i don't know how to reach, and there is a bomb dispenser which doesn't dispense anything. i run into a similar problem in the other room, it's very colourful with a lot of question marks and two bomb dispensers which don't dispense anything. i hear a jumpy thing in there, but i think it's above and unreachable. are these bomb dispensers glitching out? or do they have some other use i'm not aware of? OR is the solution something else completely! heeelp.

If you can't reach a coin, just proceed. You will be able to collect missed coins at a later stage. Some coins can't even be picked up in early stages.

that doesn't help me at all. if you haven't played the third-party level i'm talking about, you might as well not bother responding.

Oh, my bad... I completely missed that it was about the third party pack.

I don't think I have the third party pack with me right now, nor do I recall the level you're talking about. Racing the blue block sounds familiar, but I definitely don't remember cannons firing blanks. I'll have to take a look at it tomorrow. (If I remember)

i'm guessing not many people have played the third-party pack. that is a shame, there are some really good levels. it's just this one i'm having trouble with, and i want somebody to confirm if it's just me or if it's a glitch that's stopping my advancement. i'm guessing it's the latter.. :sigh: but is it only affecting me or is it a problem with the level itself?

Hmmm.. I've been playing for over an hour now and I'm stuck right where you are. :oops:

I made it to the 7 coin button. The strange question mark room as well, and the only thing I can figure is that there's another entrance, probably from the race room.

but howww.. agh. thanks for taking the time to check this out, at least now i know it's not just me. if only TheoX (the level's creator) was around to shed some light on the situation. :( maybe i will send him a PM.

If you've bought the full version you could always look in the editor..

It's glitched.  :/  The rooms mentioned worked on initial release, but I guess an update made something behave differently.  The race room's dispenser is supposed to make 5 (I think) second bombs, and the other room's dispensers are supposed to make large bouncy guys.

I guess I could re-edit it and see if it starts working again.  I'll do that if I have the time.

oh that sucks. i wonder what caused the level to stop working? anyway thanks for the response, hope it's figured out soon.

I do apologize for the rather...gargantuan bump, but I'm just worried for any wanderer who happened to play The Outer Rim and wondering where there would be a fix to make the world beatable. Just unzip the attachment, and replace the Level ini file (located at wherever you extracted The Outer Rim) with the one you unzipped. If possible, it'd also be nice to somehow add it to the current download link (http://nifflas.ni2.se/?page=FiNCK) for the third-party pack!
