Title: a missing piece of my education
Post by: atinypony on July 16, 2010, 04:14:58
I'd just like to know what the 'certain Nintendo 8-Bit game' is.  The only nes block game I can think of off the top of my head is flipul, and yet this game is so eerily similar in gameplay and the visual mood it evokes to another indie gem 'lyle in cube sector', even down to the spiral blocks, that I'm certain IT had the same inspiration too.  Which makes me want to find and play this nes game.  Anyone able to learn me?

To explain the game itself, it's a platform game very inspired by Super Mario Bros 2 and Lyle in Cube Sector.
:P

Then again, Lyle was quite inspired by SMB2 also, so... ;)

And just for the record, SMB2 stands for Super Mario Bros 2. X)

Well, due to legal restrictions I'm not supposed to put the names of trademarked products on an "official" place, like the game description page at my website. However, this game which I'm inspired by is of course Super Mario Bros 2.

Neither can I :) However, I'll just as a habit try to stick to the rules anyway.

Considerdering I still play this on my snes at age 24 (ragtime AND rocketships? how much cooler can you get[interrobang]) I feel very silly for not picking this, though it makes sense you wouldn't put it on the front page, and I didn't look any further.   Considering I haven't PASSED it at age 24 possibly means I should apply for membership to clockworklemon's league of crap players.

Hey, i play games for their STORYLINES, man.
