I just found this competition... Well, whatever that is, KS is loosing, so let's all vote for it! X)

If KS, a game that has a thriving user community (which still produces new levels even after almost 3 years since the game was released) and nearly infinite replay value loses to a Vista/Win7 only shooter (even if it's a somewhat interesting one), then there's no justice in this world.
But then again, that's just a simple poll, so... :P

Sure I voted for ks but that other game sounds nice. I don't see any resemblance between them though.

A sidenote: Shattered Horizon will be free during this weekend on steam. You can pre-load it now, to play it from friday till sunday.

I saw that, I downloaded it even to try it out just to see how it was... then stupid message pops up telling me I need vista or windows 7. >(

Yeah, forgot to mention that.
I've played it now, but I really do love Knytt Stories or Knytt far better. The game Shattered Horizon is not a bad game, but it lacks a few things to be a good game imho. I find it necessary to have a good pc in order to play it decently, and the aiming (even when aiming down) seems to be not accurate like in other shooters. Sniping is nearly impossible and is somewhat based on luck. I've managed to get a headshot and a few normal kills, but don't ask me how. It was frustrating. It offers good gametypes, like you see in modern shooters. The concept (having everything in space) is a bit bad though... If you remember Descent (old dos game) then you have the basics of this game too. Better graphics, but descent has better movement.

IMHO, this is more like "big 3D shooter game" VS "old fashioned indie game"

Well they are obviously both indie games. Shattered Horizons looks awesome but I haven't the hardware to try it out. I feel pretty confident that even if I did I'd still prefer Knytt though, so my vote went to Knytt.

That is a really freakin stupid comparison. All there doing is drumming up hype and viral advertising which we fell for. There just trying to get hits from the long established game bases to establish themselves. Doesn't sound very indie to me.
