Title: Choose your Own adventure

Remember those "Chose your own adventure" books? Well, here's a game based off of them!

Rules:
1. Post with "Page " number you chose at top.
2. Post what happened on the branch you chose.
3. Post the possible page number choices and what they do.

Example:


Page 45:

You jump onto the roof of Mr. Jarky. He yells at you and threatens you with an unloaded pistol. You stand up, almost losing your balance.

Go to...
Page 56: Get off the roof. Page 40: Jump into chimney.


So let's start!

You are standing out side (And facing) Boston mall. There is a pile of shopping carts to the left of you.  about a hundred or 2 cars are parked behind you.

Go to...
Page 2: Check inventory. Page 4: Jump in pile of shopping carts. Page 6: Go towards the cars. Page 3: Go inside the mall.

You begin searching through the jumbled mess of carts. The cart collecting employee on the other side of the lot turns and sees the mess. He sighs and and begins walking toward you.

You see something move in the pile... you squint to try to make out what it is... It's a tiny drunken homeless man! It looks like you've disturbed his home.

You throw the homeless man at the employee. The employee is knocked backwards into a window and is knocked out. The homeless man picks himself up and glares at you. He seems to be fairly angry now that you destroyed his home and threw him.

You wake with a start. A man in an orange prisoner's vest is standing on the other side of your door with the key.
"You coming with me, or what?"

Are people actually checking if a previous page hasn't already been used, so people don't mention a page with an action that already has been done? and what about pages that have an action but haven't been mentioned throughout the story?

I honestly think this is not gonna work for a forumgame, and thus turing into a spam topic.

This is basically like the ??? game we had on the old forum, except with random numbers instead of A, B, C, D.
I don't think this is spam though. There is a set of rules, and the things people are posting is a bit more advanced than spamming.

The problem with round robin stories like this (or ???) is the community.  It has to be a community in which everyone wants to make sense and be coherent and not conflict with others.  That's pretty much impossible.

Yes, that is true, but that doesn't mean it has to be dead serious either. Of course, if you are just posting random stuff without even reading the last post, its just spam, but as long as you are within the boundaries of the rules I think it should be fine. Either that, or the rules need to be clearer.
But enough of this, lets play the game.

12. You keep your speed and run headlong into the wall and break your nose. You are starting to feel dizzy again, only this time it doesn't seem like it is going away.

You wake up. Doctors are around you. One is pulling back from your forehead. Another, who has a Nametag saying "Hello, I am Dr. Harct", gives you a hand mirror. You slowly gaze in and see a blue patch where the one doctor just was.

200: Scream.
57: Get off the bed and run away to the neighbor's house.

Just as a sidenote, purposely using page numbers like 42 and 666 to guide choices is rather... :/
Also, making references that not everyone might understand. Not only will you be dissapointed if they fail to pick the one you wanted, but you might try it over again. Almost like repeaing a fauxpas.

That said,

53. You spin around to find someone on another ledge holding you at gun point. He is wearing a dark black suit and shades. Over his shoulder is what appears to be a grappling hook and some rope. The guy's intent is unclear, but you seem to think that was a warning shot.

26. Jump off the ledge
55. Try to reason with him
92. Scream at him for killing Phil

Before you enter, however, you must re-climb the precipice to retrieve a -lantern- for light. Then jump into the river and float into the cave. Once inside, the walls will be covered in drawings and pictures that just beg you to use your imagination. But you mustn't. For if you do, you will use it up. Once you reach a spot in particular, there will be a momentary lack of drawing. This place is the closest to the real world. Once there, imagine a doorway. You must hurry through this quickly. If you don't, you're imagination will be used up, for this is the hardest part to sustain imagination.

Page 512:  Lose the donuts and possibly starve.
Page 1024:  Ditch the gear and risk being clobbered.
Page 2560:  Fling Phil up there and request that he updates the quest somehow.

(Something tells me I done it wrong, but if not, then yay!)

You apologise to Phil but he gets mad and trows the rock at you. Then you get mad to and you imagine Phil dead. By imagining that, everything starts to fade away. You wake up in a chair with the 'create your own adventure' book lying on your chest.

After swearing never to eat a mushroom again, the bag full of the fungus (mushrooms for those who aren't sure), suddenly becomes a bag of marshmallows.

65536:  Eat the whole dang bag of marshmallows, including the bag.
65537:  Chow down on some marshmallows, and save some for later.
65538:  Devour only one marshmallow in fear of it being poison.
65539:  Do not eat the marshmallow.  they're poison!

You eated like theres no tomorrow, you also incidentally eat the bag. you start to fell dizzy, and faint. you wake up outside.

You try to utilize your Xtreme time-traveling skills, only to discover that these skills are nonexistent. You fall on your head trying to run faster than the light (thus going back in time) and everything suddenly starts flashing very bright colors. Then you seem to fall... fall... past manbearpigs, bags of marshmallows, markets and you even think you spot Phil in the madness... you seem to have suffered brain damage. Then you pass out.

You find yourself being carried towards the hospital in an ambulance. Everything is still flashing in seizure-inducing colors and you see the nurses as vampires. You're also bound to the floor.

35: Scream, wildly flail your limbs and try to bite away the strands holding you on the floor.
46: Search for people around the ambulance and ask them to set you free.
57: Wait for something interesting to happen.

789. For what ever crazy reason, you can't do something truly abnormal twice. Instead you end up looking like someone having a minor spasm. Not one of the best things to be doing in an ambulance.

349: You try to tell to the nurses to not suck all your blood from your body. They then try to explain that they are not vampires. You start screaming that they're lying... so a nurse punches you. How would she make you lie still?

You wake up in a hospital chamber. You are strapped to your bed, and you notice the ominous music has gone. You see a doctor talking to your "neighbour".

87: Ask the doctor what happened to you.
990: Flail about with your arms and legs in an attempt to get free.
5: Decide that there's nothing to see and go back to sleep.

And why does everybody have to mention vampire nurses?

I go to page 87, and the doctor tells me im too dangerous to keep alive, just like my neighbour, who seems to be my brother. The doctor seems to be Dr. Cliche and uses Ice Bomb 1.0, and of course that's the blue ball (why didn't Cliche know that anyway?)
The ball, as his enemy's enemy is (supposed to be) his friend, helps me escape.
You can choose our fate now lol:

Page 911: Attempt to free your bro and go to page 1338, your bro will go on his own
Page 1338: Escape with the blue ball and leave your bro behind, he can escape without your help
Page OVER 9000: Escape, but take your bro and the ball with ya
Page 65: Attack Cliche
Page 8975: Go to pokeplushies.com, adopt something, get people to click the things level-up link, and let it attack Cliche when it reaches a certain level

8975: Dr. Clich? stands over you, impatiently, as you refresh the pokeplushies page. Eventually, he looses interest and knocks you over the head with a fire extinguisher. The chair topples over, as the ground now bears your weight. You aren't knocked out, but your head is throbbing.

65: Get up and attack.
693: Right the chair and wait on pokeplushies some more.
593: Lay on the ground and hold your head.
1338: Get the heck out of there.

Maybe page 693... Finally got registered on the forum, meaning you can finally adopt something. You go on this forum and show your pet in your signature. Along with the two links. You turned the first links text into 'Please click here for it to level up, its part of an escape plan' and 99 people click it, meaning its finally lvl100. It goes through the space-time continuum of pokeplushies and appears next to the doctor.

Page 65: Let the the lvl100 being attack Cliche
Page 693: Wait on pokeplushies some more (causes the thing (thats already lvl100) to level up some more)
Page 1338: Get away, and take everyone with ya except for your brother (you can keep te lvl100 for something else then)
