Title: WaCS Creative Input references/easter eggs
Post by: Wanderer on April 04, 2010, 18:00:03
I am almost finished with the tutorial level, (I'm stuck on making teleporters, the engine doesn't like the ball moving). I know I promised a tutorial level to be out yesterday but I got caught up watching The Blind Side. I will upload a video and the download, so for those who don't want to download it, they can just watch the video.

So now to the fun stuff, what I need is interesting ideas to be put in the game as secrets or easter eggs. The ideas will most likely be put in as accessible computer terminals, but there is room for other ways for input.

It's no guarantee that all ideas will be put in.

I am also looking for Niff Forum references too, as this is a collaboration with the forum.

Ideas:
- Yukabacera (His Fallout 3 information)
-
-
-

Thanks forum!
(And no, this is not a teal deer.  <_<

Hey, my name's on there! Nice! Anyway, what info I picked up are you going to use? (I don't have a problem with it, just curious)

An idea on how to use my stuff:

In a PM (you know which one) I mentioned my blog, where I collect letters, notices etc. from FO3. Maybe you could turn the letters into emails on the terminals, and put the notices on signs around the game world. For example, if the game takes place in a building, you could use the gunfire one, and simply switch "inside city limits" to "inside the building". As I said, just an idea.

Yeah I was thinking of using the stuff you collected on your blog. I just need to work out a story which ties it all together.

Alright, I think this would be a much better project if everyone contributed ideas.

You can contribute storyline ideas and and anything you think will be entertaining.

The first real level of the game I'm making will have "serious" overtones.

So whatever you contribute can be funny or have a philosophical meaning.

I can help.

I can make some *hilarious* pixel sprites if you need them, and my storywriting isn't too shabby either.

Oh, and WTF is this .pdf you and Yukabacera  are talking about?

Oh, and WTF is this .pdf you and Yukabacera  are talking about?

Oh, it's a sort of report/short story/whatever he wrote about a song called There Will Come Soft Rains. I believe it's in my Post-Apocalyptic Literature book. I sent you the link, didn't I?

Yeah it was a short story kind thing if I remember correctly.

@TDO If I could see your pixel art then I'll be able to see if I want your style in the project. I don't really like things that look sloppy and messy.

And you writing isn't bad either? Could you whip up a simple (preferably dark) story and post it to DeviantArt or some other place? Or just send me a link to download it?

I'm a huge avatar fan and always thought it would be an awesome idea to incorporate the underground of Ba Sing Se into a level, super secret secret unlockable, of course.
Basically you would enter the underground with the help of an earthbender, or maybe a badger mole.
Your quest is to save appa and escape..
It would be a little side quest, that's all.
I have an appa sprite and the official music if needed. ;)
