The Version 1.2.1 is now finished.
Most of the importants things are done :

Hello! Are there anybody playing KSO now?
I'm from Russia and it's a bit difficult for me to read the Forum. =)
And I always have "Waiting for refresh" in Channels Window.

As nauruan said there's a problem with Channels Window. It's "Waiting for refresh" all the time, and when I press "Refresh" button, the game breaks, and doesn't response.

Bugs:
The preview page no longer takes up the whole screen, so the level select page shows under it. Also, the options and channels page use a different color of black that the other buttons. The Online button on the credits menu is the wrong color of black as well, and there no credits on the page. All the bonuses like clicking or right-clicking the center of the dots to make them spin faster and clicking or right-clicking the MMF button to make the dots fly inward or out ward are gone. The tutorial button brings you to a blank screen. The save button on the options screen doesn't appear to do anything, and is the wrong color. There is a blank button under the word Update that only appears when you put you put your mouse over it. The channels page always says, "Waiting for refresh..." and the refresh button is the wrong color and the text is not the same style. All of the buttons you put in don't make the click sound the others do.

If your having difficulty finding people to play with, click the "chat" button at the top of the forum or join irc.esper.net in your irc client, then type /join #fightclub. It's a irc channel I set up as a multiplayer game lobby, originally for Steel Sentinals, but please do use it for other stuff (minecraft, KSOnline etc,etc,etc)

#niffchat is for everything to do with the Nifforum, while #fightclub is strictly for multiplayer games.
Still, I tried opening up an IRC channel for another forum once, and aside from a short influx of members for the first few days of its existance, nobody joined. After several months of being the only person in the channel, I just dissolved it and moved on.

Not really. It was a chat that dataflashsabot set up specifically for KSO, and it was posted at least 4/5 times in the last topic. I didn't really think anybody had missed it. :/

Which is exactly why it is such a good place to ask people if they want to play.
KSO already has a chat function, so I don't see why we would need a chat room for anything else than to get someone to play with.

I didn't set up #fightclub just for KSOnline, I just thought it might come in useful as a lobby. (Well, that's kinda what it was in the first place).
In other words, I'm trying to get as much traffic on #fightclub as possible, sad as that may seem.

Hey, this is really cool!
I was playing this today with a friend, and it works well, but there are some bugs and things that I hope you can change.
The tutorial button on the main menu doesn't work, and the save button on the options page doesn't seem to do much. The Channels page doesnt work.
Other players names don't show up untill your standing next to them, perhaps you can make it so you can choose between that option or other peoples names show up all the time. Also, when people use the umbrella hollogram, it doesn't show up on everyone elses screen. It would be nice if you could, or is this a engine limit?
Anyways, this sounded like a real bad moan, but it think its great atm!
its less boring playing levels with other people, not that many play on KSO anyway.

Wow, cool. Now we just need a way to schedule times in there. Maybe some kind of races or something?
Strange though, when I loaded my new level into it, it didn't start at the level start, but seemed to choose a random save point. Seems a weird way to do it, since you could easily get stuck if you started at the wrong place.

I'd really like to help with this. I have MMF2 Dev and I have good experiance with programming, and good programming experiance with OINC (Now replacd by Lacewing) which it sems you are using. I'd probably be able to sort out any issues you have with it. For instance, right nowm as I am typing this, Juni is running aorund from my keypresses... It doesn't do that for regular Knytt Stories, so I assume you are using the Key object so you can type and play simultaneosly? If so, there's a better way to do it by simply adding "Window has focus".
This seems great, and as I said I want to help. :)

It's good! Found one bug so far with v 1.2.4: it is impossible to erase save games. When you click erase, then confirm, nothing happens.
Also, is it possible to make a English version of KSLD?

Yes, the menus are in another language.
EDIT: Oh yeah, when loading up the Together Caves by DataFlashBot, it teleports the player to a void, but on normal KS it doesn't, so I'm assuming it's something to do with KSO.
Aslo, cutscenes don't show at the start of a level, is this intentional?
EDIT (Again): I found that the player is teleported to a purple void screen when starting a new save, on any level.

EDIT: found a bug where u can see other players wherever they are,
EG: I am in screen A, person 2 is standing next to me. I move to screen 2, and person 2 is still on my screen in the same place, even if the ground is at a different height, they will float in the sky.
EDIT (Again): Fixed now, I think. :huh:

Yes, i'm in the screen to the left, however, a glitch has occured, see modified most at the end of page 3 of this topic.
EDIT: a few things: would you be able to expand the amount of text you can write in the in-game chat in one go? Also, can you make it so that you can see other people's umbrella's, holograms etc.
And one other thing: is it possible to syncronise both player's screens, because when we were testing just then, I think some creatures moved and fired at different times/places for both of us, but i'm not sure.
Also, when will we be able to upload our own levels to KSLD?
Anything you need help in beta testing, let me know!
ANOTHER EDIT: Is it possible to add a friends list system, so u can add people to your friends list, and see if they're online or not etc?

I can't write anything in the chat. The "Message to send" is just a gray rectangle that doesn't react on clicks.
There's free space on the bottom and top of the screen. Can chat windows be moved there?

Yes if you add a level to the website it's also add to KSLD. (they use the same SQL database.)
So now you can post our levels on the website! (you cannot upload beacause I haven't many space on my website. :( Use http://www.knyttlevels.com/ (http://www.knyttlevels.com/) to upload.

I get an error "Object is already listening" which I think means you are trying to connect again. Lacewing keeps connections active across frames, so you don't need to connect to the server or channels again after connecting once. ;)

But AVG does scan every day, and it hasn't warned me of any problems. It might be just that your anti-virus THINKS it's a virus, but isn't actually infected, like mentioned in this topic: http://nifflas.lpchip.nl/index.php?topic=1154.0

Hugobros3 has a dead IP on his site. IP 94.23.15.214
Sence the IP was weak the owner of the IP was infected. Now the IP is used to infect users that come in contact with the IP
Thats how The Zombie Virus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_zombie) works.

Stop being so paranoid. What your antivirus came up with was a false positive (go look it up), and how the heck do you think several members of a forum can create a five page topic for game that doesn't even work, and all say that its great?
Even if it was infected, which it isn't, it probably wouldn't be hugo's fault or done intentionally.

which anti-virus are you using?
if it's AVG, Avast, MSSE, or F-Secure, ignore it, for I have known all of these to delete my own MMF2 programs as soon as they are built. and AVG actually started to delete all the .mfa's, .001s and .002s before I killed the process, losing about a week's worth of work. >(

I checked Hugo's website. Appearently it has a crap-load of pop-ups with viruses. It should appear on the top of screen. Saying that a pop-up was blocked. Im afraid to actually download the document :(

If you think it has a virus, don't download it. I'm just going to warn you: you don't know what you're missing.
About the empty folder: Some anti-virus programs delete files and whatnot even if they are perfectly clean (false positive)

I downloaded again. 2 Trojans. Yea my anti-virus blocked it. So I unblocked it. The application has an error.
Please send me a safe link.
Edit: Im gonna search up that virus on Symantec. And get detailes about this "Virus"
Alot of you have been saying False Positives.......I just dont know...It feels like Kaspersky & KSO hate each other.

I opened the executable in a hex editor (it's created in Multimedia Fusion 2) to check what extensions it contains. It does contain Live Receiver, which unfortunately is commonly reported as a virus despite that it isn't. It's the same extension that results in Knytt Experiment being detected as a virus.

Kapersky is somewhat notorious for false positives.
I think malware once used Live Receiver, resulting in AV programs detecting malware in other programs that use it.

Yeah, that's how it happens. When an MMF2 app is reported as malware, the antivirus developers don't realize it's the events that determines what the application does, so they instead label either the runtime or one of the extensions as the malicious parts. This is why every now and then (it's way too common actually) all MMF2 applications are suddenly labeled as viruses.
In other words, when your antivirus software warns you, don't assume that it is a virus. You should just be aware that it can potentially be a virus and investigate further because someone else probably have a good answer.

Ether way the file gets destroyed by my Anti-Virus.
Edit: My Anti-Virus is going nuts! It wont calm down! I tryed just to press "Quarantine but it says its impossible. *sigh*

Edit: Dose Norton Anti-Virus detect this? I can do KSO on my PC mabey.

This can easily be replaced by using the Get Object instead which is not reported as a virus at all. ;)

I jump in a hole - white! I slide down a cliff - white! And if I have a save point, I can restart from there, but if I don't then I am doomed to fall forever in a white void |:
Does anyone know why my game does this? At first I thought that the level I was playing was like that, but then I noticed all levels were the same.
Also, two of the levels inside the game won't install. It tells me there is a "free web hosting error" or something D:
Are those files deleted or what? D:
And please, if someone starts explaining, write slowly and with easy to understand words...I'm a girl, you know >w>;;;

The alert is caused by live receiver wich is use in an test frame that i forgot to remove.

Im still wandering about the dead IP on your site...is that your IP or is that just a bad IP? If so you may need to quaritine (maybe spelt wrong) the IP. Oh and you got some pop-ups and viruses that come from it. (Its says a security notice on top screen).
Anyway just a heads up. ;)

KSO will probably need a better hosting with the time... I recently buy an personal nanoserver in occasion for a few euros but i could'nt use it since it haven't an harddrive (it needs an ide 2" 5 , if you got one ... ) if i could make it working i'll use it as a rescue server.
In fact the reason of the surcharge of the out bandwith is that the kso big files are downloaded too many times so they took all the bandwith. Before i got my free webhosting , i did had an online storge service with UNLIMITED bandwith, i'll look on this one to host the biggers files...

My free hosting service told me that I exceeded my aivable bandwidth... :ohnoes:
We'v just to wait the next month to have the website up again... :/
KSO will probably need a better hosting with the time... I recently buy an personal nanoserver in occasion for a few euros but i could'nt use it since it haven't an harddrive (it needs an ide 2" 5 , if you got one ... ) if i could make it working i'll use it as a rescue server.

Try hosting the files on a file service.
Dropbox is good, free, and provides direct hotlinking.

Oh my god !
it is GREAT ^^ 2Gb space , I'll will be able to put a lot of stories in this !
(there is not a lot of stories >10 Mb , so i could host at least 2Gb / 0.01 Gb >> 200 stories of 10 Mb ! )
And it has an php api.
God it's usefull.
