When starting, Or ending, a level, Hold the jump button and you will start without a hat.

It's kinda unproductive to say things like that when both creators of the game are on the same forum. :P

It just looks like you don't have a hat. Also, it works anywhere if you just jump for a bit, or even fall. The sprite just gets cut off a bit with vertical movement, that's all.
