Title: DWYW - Part 2: Luck goes haywire: round SIX
Post by: Bored2death on October 04, 2009, 00:30:28
Spoiler: Rules (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Story (click to show/hide)

You all wake up six feet under the ground at the Nifftown cemetery

You will have until Oct. 8th to submit your actions in this thread. Also note that I decided that instead of you searching for the essence of luck, one person will be assigned it at the start of each round. It's abilities may be changed depending on a few factors... note that the essence of luck will not be handed out during the first round.
Finally, if you would like to join but aren't in the game yet, feel free to post an action and I will count you in the game.
Have fun!

Dig a pocket of air in front of my mouth to be able to breathe, then dig my way up through the dirt, until I reach the surface.

Ckool, as this is your first time playing, you might not have known this, but you can only submit one action per round. In other words, simplify your action a little bit, so it's one clear action. Also, everybody: I will take unspecified actions as standard actions, but if you want your action to be a prayer or something else, then make sure that you specify that.

Title: Re: DWYW - Part 2: Luck goes haywire: Round one results
Post by: Bored2death on October 06, 2009, 01:49:57
Here's the results of ROUND 1!
Spoiler: Actions and Results (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Disaster Roll (click to show/hide)

This is the Channel 7 Nifftown news. We have heard unconfirmed reports that the dead are clawing their way out of the ground at the Nifftown cemetery, but do not panic. They seem to mean no harm to the town. In fact, it almost appears like they're playing a game.
In other news, India has just been destroyed by a giant meteorite that struck the ground and vaporized all water on contact. The Indian government has not yet been contacted on this, probably because they are all dead. Finally, a mysterious man was seen burying a package today at the cemetery. Nobody knows who he was or WHAT he was, but, when questioned, all that would come out of his mouth was: Pigs fly, you know... they learned how from the string... and similar nonsense. None know what to make of this.
That's all for today's news folks. See ya tomorrow!

Round two has now begun.

The essence of luck has been given to one player.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please pm me.

Alright... well, it appears we have another person hoping to join. Niffreak, please post a second action for round 2, and I will post your results for round one above. Also, if there is anyone else, I will still allow you to join by Oct. 8th, and I will do the same as I did for Niffreak. Remember, don't be afraid to join... 13, while normally unlucky...[/creepiness]

Here's a note for the rest of y'all.

Your air will run out if you are not above the ground level in 3 turns. Also, player list has been updated with your status.

I believe we await only Mr. Math's action. If this action is not in by Oct. 10th, Mr. Math shall be fried with a turkey-baster stuck in his head after being struck by lightning and mutated into a singing worm and thrown in a lake of soda

... Just kidding! Though, I will consider a modkill if he hasn't posted an action... (begins thinking of cruel, evil ways to modkill someone...)

Post by: Mathexpert on October 09, 2009, 00:06:47
Sorry, I will be kinda busy this week so you can modkill me. Sorry, I really hate this (signing up and then backing out after a few days) but it has to be done. Thanks!
Title: Re: DWYW - Part 2: Luck goes haywire: ROUND TWO
Post by: Bored2death on October 09, 2009, 02:19:17
Wait, Mr. Math, there IS a null action. If you'd like, you can use that for the next few rounds, till you can get back and post again. You will do nothing, but things can still happen to you. This should be a long game, so I don't want to put anyone out of it yet. Besides... even IF you were dead, you'd still be able to return to life...

Alrighty, I've decided that Mr. Math will use null actions until he specifies otherwise.

Here's the results from round 2:
Spoiler: Rolls and Actions (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Disaster roll (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Cave-In!!!! (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: summary (click to show/hide)

This is the Nifftown news station. Several witnesses claim to have seen a zombie running away from the cemetery with a steak attached to it's head. This is unconfirmed, and is not a reason to panic. However, we have heard reports that New York is witnessing an incredible outbreak of the "swine flu version 2.0", a strain that has developed the tendency to kill it's victims within 3 hours. While nowhere else has yet confirmed this type of flu, we may need to be worried about it yet. In other news, STAY AWAY FROM THE CEMETERY!!! We've heard numerous reports of the dead rising, steaks flying everywhere, and cave-ins. The newly arisen dead do not seem to care about preserving anything. We also have footage of one of them having a strand of some unidentified substance slip out of him and into another of the zombies. Whatever's going on, folks, I think it's almost time to book the next plane to New York... oh, wait, they're dieing. In that case, let's go to Hawaii. This is Casey Vitelin, reporting from Nifftown's local news station.

I would begin to think about preparing for a disaster to strike. Next round, there will be a 50/50 chance of it coming.
Also, ROUND THREE HAS BEGUN!!!

Prayer has a 1/12 chance of success. Why do you even bother trying? If you are desperate use adrenaline rush.
Title: Re: DWYW - Part 2: Luck goes haywire: ROUND THREE
Post by: Bored2death on October 09, 2009, 17:59:52
Technogeek: that counts as two actions... reword it as:
"remove all of the tombstone pieces, healing the wounds."
Purple Pineapple: I'd take that action back if I were you... no matter what, backfires are bad for you, so...

Nothing like letting off a steak mayhem.  :D
I feel as though I really done overkill beyond belief.
Considering I'm in the clear for now, I should prepare myself for more mayhem.  A shame the zombie's a vegetarian.  Could've provided tofu.  :(
type:  Standard
Action:  try to layer more dirt on to the graves, to ensure nothing gets out.  (Don't want more zombies to go after me.)

Wow! I think that once BackwardsO and ckool5000 post an action, it will be a new round! That's like, a record for this forum...
And I've decided that Dr. Syringe is perfectly ok with his action, though I would think a backfire should be something bad...

Also, just fyi, the Adrenaline Rush is a coin toss, heads is good, tails is bad. This is to clear up any possible confusion, and is specifically dealing with the essence of luck, which I initially planned to only affect standard actions...
Title: Re: DWYW - Part 2: Luck goes haywire: ROUND THREE

The Styx is the river that Charon sets you over. The river Lethe is from the part of hell for not really good, but not really bad people. You are left to starve there, with only the river. You're forced to drink from it, and normally you turn into a shade of your former self and remember nothing... nothing bad, nothing good either. You wander around in eternity... but here it revives you.

Disaster Roll: No disaster roll for 1 more turn!

Status: Everyone who was underground is now above ground, and ckool5000 has an arm now. Everything else is pretty much the same.

All dead people As an older spirit, you may affect people in different ways: you can now choose to add a 1 to any player's dice roll.

Hello. This is the news station at London in Maine. We've just heard news that only some zombies appeared to have died in the horrible eruption that occurred last Tuesday. Nifftown is COMPLETELY safe, except for the zombies that are trying to destroy our village, and the fears of the "swine flu version 2.0" that have been confirmed in the area. Oh, and there's no need to worry about the news that the government is trying to keep secret about the black hole that appeared in Seattle, Australia that will only destroy us all. It's not like you haven't lived through worse, right? Well, folks, don't panic. Your lives and property are all doomed, so go celebrate!!!

You guys must think I'm crazy by now XD...

Spoiler: Suicide (click to show/hide)
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU MANAGED TO KILL YOURSELF!
:^^:

Spoiler: The essence of luck (click to show/hide)
Aweso(http://nifflas.ni2.se/forum/Smileys/Niffpack/mes.gif)me.

Dr. Syringe - You finally killed yourself! YAY! You now have the traits of a day one dead person (check day three post for info on your limits)

Niffreak - Alive, well, and stapled to Dr. Syringe for a turn
What the heck? Can I know if I'm in the underworld, in the black hole, or stapled to Niffreak aboveground?

You are dead. You may do actions that help the living players, but not harm them. Or, you may seek to go to the River Lethe and try to become alive again.
Spoiler: Concerning the Dead (click to show/hide)
So can the dead hinder progress in the above world?

Also, can spirits go above ground as spirits?

Also, update the players list.

The staple will break free in one turn? Whatever, i might as well escape from it a bit more... dramatically. I explode, breaking myself free of the staple. (note: explosion shouldn't harm me)

Purple: Yes, the ROUND THREE dead can hinder progress in the above ground, and they can go above ground. HOWEVER: YOU ARE ONLY A ROUND ONE DEAD PERSON, dead for one round. Therefore, you can only assist the players. Also, I realized I forgot to say that when you left, you left a basketball in your bed, and Niffreak ended up getting stapled to the bed.

@Yonowaaru: My bad... I'm afraid my vacation was too long! You ARE dead, and I mistook my own previous post to mean you were alive!!! XD
Now, hopefully, I'm back into it... Also, because I made the mistake, you are free to charge at someone anyway and damage them.

Not because I'm malicious but because there really isn't much for him to do about it, being stapled and all

They can just keep the same format or change it a little, its really not that hard. They just need to type up whatever they feel like at the moment to make it different. If you need anything, you can always email me at (hope I'm allowed to do this!) bored2death65@hotmail
not sure when I'll answer, but you can give it a try. Just let me know who you are, as I might not recognize your email address!!! It was good knowing everyone!!!!

Everlong (6) Whoa! That was the most persuasive, inspiring speech in the history of ever! All dead who have not already tried to resurrect proceed to the river Lethe, and luck decides they all get to come back to life! Including you!
You.. you.. Ugh!

Adrenaline rush: I aggravate the moony men to the extent that they grind my bones into dust with an especially large paperclip. (If that doesn't work, the worst that can happen is they befriend me and lend me a spacesuit. If this happens, I'm likely to aim for another black hole.)

Ah, well to be clear, no one is removed from the game, it's entirely my fault that it hasn't been updated. I kind of just assumed that since I got no reposes the game had been abandoned before i could do anything  I'll send PM's to the old participants who haven't posted their actions, and extend the deadline.

Just to repeat, no one has been force removed from the game.
