I'm making a set of levels : The Mysteries of ???????(I won't tell you the name until the first chapter is finished)
Principal Story :
A girl named Isa lives in a small village, close to the forest , in the Land of ???????.
Lot of years before, a man wrote some texts about this country. His texts were talking about monsters , fairies and other imaginary things.The villagers laugh a lot and called this man "The Mad".
Isa would like to know if those stories were invented by the mind of the villager or if it is a real story, if those imaginary things were real.
So, she decided to verify each story , but the only way is to explore her mysterious land...
I'm inventing the first chapter , some screens later because I haven't much time this time.

If you want to cooperate , you can create a dark forest (but not spooky forest) for me , because I'm bad at drawing forests and because the players' tilesets don't go with my story, they do not look great.
You can also make me a forest gradient.
You'll be sure credited if I use them. ;)

4a basically Is? is the Name of the rune of standstill, the ancient creature and coldness.

Did you know you can stand on the very edge of the button and it'll still go?
Get that right and you can just stand next to the laser.

Nope, I try to stand on the edge of the button , it's impossible !

I think its kind of easy. Try walking up on it while pressing the a button. As soon as it is pressed, you stop, and the laser wont touch you.

You mean that you stay on the button for a while, then you walk away when the lazers are going to reactive soon ?

I know what Razzorman is talking about, while the laser is on you hold down a and tap left or right until the button is pressed then you just wait, it's a very useful trick X-P
also the level looks good but the second screenie has some contrast issues, the brown ceiling and black floor don't look to good together, but it looks & sounds like an good level

The brown floor is for the cave , because it's a lab in a cave.
But yes, that's not really good.

I really like your concept
Should be very interesting to see
Also, your screens looks quite good. One thing, if I have to be a bit criticive, is you could try and ad some tiles to fill in the backgrounds rather than relying on the gradient. I think, per exapmle, a few hills in the background in the village would look really great.
But thats of course just my opinion.
Anyways, great work, and Im looking forward to seeing the finished level. Should be interesting :)

Youre welcome ;) I find looking at Nifflas' levels are really help full when designing backgrounds. Looking at what he does, and trying to figure out why it works
