Title: Save editing
Post by: The stickman on June 06, 2009, 19:08:08
I've got a question about save editing. I know that you can add balls and secret games by editing the text file, but I don't know what each tag (that's probably not the correct term, but that's what I'll call them,) does. What does the "Entrance" tag do, and such. The tags don't appear until you unlock the ball or game associated with the tag. A list would be nice, and don't forget to add spoiler tags to the secret game tags!

[Slot 1] slot number in question
GameInProgress=Yes does this slot have a game in it?
EasyMode=0 1 means easy, 0 means hard
Entrance=1 simply means weather you enter East Pinewood Heights or West Pinewood Heights.
Spoiler: balls (click to show/hide)
EndingAvaliable=Yes game has been completed
Spoiler: secrets (click to show/hide)

Although this is a nice way to get all the materials, beating the game by itself is nicer. If you are stuck somewhere, we can help you with that too. :)

Yep, although it is nice to mess around after you beat the game ;). I love experimenting with  :a0: after I beat it, and using it in the beginning to get the others  :^^:.

about the terminology, i believe that:

[Section]
Key=Value

but i'm not sure (tags are html/bbcode)

html would actually be <element atribute=value></element> or something. What's in the text file comes from MMF's Ini++ object.

but MMF did not create the format, I believe microsoft did (millions of them and .inf files in the windows and system32 folders)
and in html, they are called tags, but an individual tag contains element as it's first part, eg:
this is a tag --> <element attribute=value></element>
where element is i, b, u, s, href, etc. the tag is the whole thing together

What does this have to do with the topic? Anyway, it seems to me that all the information that could be used for save editing is already included.
