This level was made for "Knytt Stories 1.0.4". Due to the greater quality of shifts in the more recent version(s), playing this level in said recent version(s) will cause certain parts of the level to go by more quickly than originally intended.I'm curious which part. Is it the
So I guess, in order to experience the level as it was originally intended, you can play it with the older version of Knytt Stories. Or you could play it in the newer version and see how ridiculous a certain part can be.
If you get there, yeah. It'll be obvious.

Brilliant level. Very unique.
Honestly, probably one of my favorite things in this is the music. I love the music of this level...Ditto..the music made it sooo..... ... .. . . .
i never could figure out how to translate the dialogueSame for me, and it's a shame, cause the level is great
Iggyzor made a notepad document in which there are translations of almost all of the text:

Some bits he kind of messed up on (either by making typographical errors or reading wrong) and some bits I messed up on because I don't know why.
Yeah i think there was some bit that said, i quote "i rather have buffalo diahrea in my ear" ...

I agree. Although it is fun trying to find it out. I'm trying to avoid using the translations O_o
(I kind of gave up.)
AVGN maybe?Yeah i think there was some bit that said, i quote "i rather have buffalo diahrea in my ear" ...
That's a reference to something, actually. There are quite a few random references to things in the level.
AVGN maybe?

I've downloaded way bigger (since people don't know how to listen to googoogjoob and compress/make their music lower quality/whatever), but it is over 1100 screens.
Erm... thanks for the mention. :oops:And why would you know this feeling? :P
This level just caught my attention a while back and I thought a lot more people should play it :^^:.
It's pretty interesting. Reminds me a lot of... Neutral Milk Hotel. And it has an astonishing amount of screens.Spoiler: (click to show/hide)

Great level. Do tell me once you've discovered the source of the one song.

I just listen to the talking. Sometimes it kind of sounds like words! :O
Usually it makes me think of some kind of alien language though.

Actually, IIRC, the real reason he picked 42 was because he wanted the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything to be "the most normal number" he could think of. He also said that "it obviously had to be an even number." Of course, don't take this for 100% true (since I'm not positive), but I think that's how it happened.Spoiler: (click to show/hide)Spoiler: (click to show/hide)
Aaaannnnddd....look here. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/7283155.stm) He told Stephen Fry "why exactly 42." He had a reason, he just doesn't want to tell us. ;A; Anyway, we're getting off-topic. I tried playing it with the old KS, and it was incompatible. Also, it uses flags, which, 1.04 did not support.I played it with normal Knytt Stories and it worked for me. O-o

Knowing KG (and how hard it would be to accidentally do that) I'd say it's a secret.
Very well, I know your levels. I suppose you must have accidentally saved the knytt.bin there when you downloaded it or something. My bad.Knowing KG (and how hard it would be to accidentally do that) I'd say it's a secret.I really doubt you know me, good sir.

I believe it has 10.
But really, there's only one ending you want.
oh, another thing, the ending BGM(with vocal) sound awesome."Radical Dreamers".
what's the name of it?

I don't know if anyone could, but could someone condense the song from the first part of the level (PurpleVille... maybe?), because it rocks so hard, I have been whistling it for months. Could someone please do it?
Whoops, IO forgot. Could someone condense or make it into an MP3 file? I simply must hear it again, as I can no longer play the level, because I can't download stuff on my new computer. If you can't download stuff on your computer, how can you hope to download anything someone converts to an MP3?
Could this be called an absurdist game, you think?Sure. I am rather absurdist myself.

Did I notice a Discordianism reference?
There are quite a few random references to things in the level.
I have no idea how long it took. I made this sometime in 2008, I think. I honestly believe, though, that that sort of thing is not that hard provided you have a very patient editor. And I'm not as patient as they come. Thank you, though.Spoiler: does anyone not know anymore (click to show/hide)
Did this significantly change since I last downloaded it?I'm not sure what you could be talking about. I don't believe I have worked on this level ever since its completion.Spoiler: (click to show/hide)
I am blown away. I'm glad I stuck with this level. I really enjoyed the slight absurdism, but I was really surprised to see how structured everything was at the end.Thank you.
This really isn't non sequitur or absurd or random or even funny. It's just brilliant.
Did I notice a Discordianism reference?
Maybe I just rushed through the level so quickly last time that I didn't notice anyone talking normal. I'll go check anyway. I think I have an older version of it somewhere.Did this significantly change since I last downloaded it?I'm not sure what you could be talking about. Truly of my favorite levels. It also stands as the only knytt level to make me cry.Other reasons? :D
I'm also in love with KG for other reasons but don't tell him, it weirds the guy out.

I am gonna try this, I have really never before played a "hard" level so.. yeah. I am such a noob in Knytt Stories. :moody:
EDIT: WHAT THA FUDGE?!?! ... Woah, So far this is weird, I mean... look at the talking shoe with creepy music that talks an unknown language, or the Juni with a chipmunk voice. This makes me feel high,
Did I notice a Discordianism reference?Thank you.
I did possibly mention something Discordian, but I do not recall inserting such a reference--though I don't recall a lot of things.
You'd have to remind me what the possible reference is.
If you are referring to the religion, I would say the parts in the ending talking about the nature of darkness and chaos would at least be familiar..I was under the impression Discordianism is more light-hearted, and chaos is taken as meaning disorder rather than a primordial void as in, say, Greek or Chinese mythology. I mean I guess in this level, things are sort of light-hearted too, but the darkness and chaos stuff seems older than Discordianism to me.
If you are talking about a game or something, I've no idea
Here is a version for KS Ex with bigger shift delays: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/44735333/ks/KG%20-%20Teenhmifnoeafgil.knytt.binOh, hi. Things are still happening here.
This should make the animation closer to intended speed. The change slows down animation only in KS Ex. I haven't tested the whole level after the change, only tested the animation.
KG, is the speed right?
Yes, perhaps the ShiftsDelay value I used is too small. In world.ini in [KS Ex] section try ShiftsDelay=8 instead.I think it's cool that you can still almost-emulate the way the game used to be so slow. It lets you hear the sounds more completely than you normally would.
This doesn't make the level behave exactly like in 1.0.4 though, because Juni moves during these delays.
So, does the value of 8 work right? I haven't played it with the old KS version.Oh sorry hi. I really don't understand how this new KS works exactly, so I don't know how to change the value and stuff.
Iggyzor made a notepad document in which there are translations of almost all of the text:

I tried playing it with the old KS, and it was incompatible. Also, it uses flags, which, 1.04 did not support.
This level was designed for a version of KS that fell between the 2 versions available on Nifflas' home site. The newest version of KS is 100% backwards compatible with this level as far as I know.
You can look at the Teenhmifnoeafgil's World.ini. Near the top is a line, "Format=1" This indicates the minimum version of KS you need. KS 1.0.4 is only compatible with Format 0 levels.
Oh right, the shifts go faster now. I dug up KS 1.1.0 (http://egomassive.com/nifflas/KS110.zip) (3.4 MB) for you. This is just the executable in a zip file. I'd name it "Knytt Stories 110.exe" and place it in my existing Knytt Stories directory. It needs access to the other files.
PS. Your browser will probably complain about the safety of the file, because I'm just some obscure person with his own website.
I tried to play it, because lot of people had it as their favorite...I probably need to replay it again, because for now:Spoiler: (click to show/hide)
