you could also just run steam in offline mode, and when you need to reset, just delete to save files locally.

Had a chance to quickly test it before having to do homework. It activates as "Steam Sub ####", shows up in library as "Knytt Underground Developer Comp" and shows up in my account history as "Knytt Underground Developer Comp". Make up your mind steam :p

Went through the entire tutorial section of the 'menu' as well as the pseudo-demo, and had no issues. I then copied my save file from the non-steam version, and managed to continue chapter 3 perfectly.

Will attempt some achievement hunting later.

Win 7-64 Bit.
Also could dualboot into Ubuntu if it's needed to be tested there.

There is a little known setting for slow fade ambiance. It's an original KS feature. It's ideal when dedicating an ambiance track to music use, though I can't say I'm aware of anyone ever using it.

AmbiFade(A)=Slow
AmbiFade(B)=Slow
"Slow" is the only accepted value. I should put some check-boxes for this in my editor.

Wait, so does it apply to the entire world, or is it possible to disable on a per-room basis?

Lol, Firecat beat me to it but gonna post this anyways cause I have somesort of explanation for it, 3 as well because SID is a sound card / chip that is amazing to use, but it's not a file format.
