[Normal] [Puzzle/Environmental] Castle Siege

Hi, I put together a lil level in the past few days, and since this seems like the place to get feedback ... here it is!

It's pretty small (I'm still learning how to run the editor) and maybe a little generic.  But I'm working on a side-story that is a little weird and might be engaging at some point.  Let me know what you think!

level for a start.  One thing in particular I must commend you on is the lack of glitches and sequence breaking; even in some popular published levels, I can make a tricky jump the author didn't expect every now and then and find my way onto a void screen.

There are plenty of small criticisms, though.

Something I think you should learn how to use next is Signs, because IMO it would help if some of those NPCs spoke.  You can edit Sign text in KSManager.

cool, thanks for the criticism.  I'm no perfectionist, so I might just apply that criticism to my next level and save myself some time.

ps - is there an image bank with a signpost in it?  I can't seem to find one, so my current signs look like lamps.  :huh:

There aren't any objects that look like signs, but a couple of tilesets have signposts in them.  I have time to kill, so I'll make a list:

But remember, a Sign doesn't have to actually look like a sign.  You can place whatever graphic you want there so long as it stands out to the player and looks like something that could have text written on it or that could talk.  Plenty of tilesets have sign-worthy stuff in them (for instance, the open book on a stand in Tileset 20, the papers in Tileset 72, etc.), so look for stuff in whatever tilesets you're using to build a screen.  Improvise.

If you're building a screen and neither of your tilesets has a good sign, look through the object banks for a person or animal that doesn't wander around and put a Sign on it to make it talk.  This is actually a lot more common than actual signs.

You get that figured out?  Exp HP gives sage advice for this one.  It's a little tricky, and maybe there's not enough hints pointing toward it.

ps - either of you guys check out my new level?  I hate to shamelessly pimp it, but the thread I made for it has got zero action so far.
