Suggestion by the way. Always send a mail to the game developer if you're an LP'er who have done previous LP's. Odds are you'll get the game for free. I always hand out review copies.
Wow, I had actually never thought of that. Thanks for the tip!
Also, parts 1-10 are encoding now. I did upload a little clip unlisted before I started rendering the rest, though. Right here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ky0Tqo1K8_0).
Loving it so far, though. I'm some way into chapter 3, and I think my next recording session will finish it off.
A little question about the end of chapter 2, though..
How many secrets are there in the "interlude" at the end of chapter 2? I recall finding a moon, one secret area with a few things in it including a lightbulb, some kind of.. black.. sun thing, and a little jumping puzzle with the double-jump powerups. Have I missed anything in there?
I was hard at search for that room with an actual double-jump power-up until I realized you mean 'firework' lights that make you jump :D
Hah. Well, I've been calling them double-jump powers in my head. I'm really expecting an old Knytt Stories power-up to be laying around somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if it caused an explosion, either..
Aaannnnd part 1's up now (here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypnXhuc_aQQ)), and I have parts 2 and 3 uploading as I type this, which takes me close to the end of chapter 1. Then it's super-magical interlude time. Going to be resuming playing tomorrow night, I think. I have recorded up to about.. maybe 1/4 into chapter 3, and I'm sorely itching to get it finished. Thing is, I'm forcing myself not to play unless I'm recording. -random fist shake-
Once I've got the main story finished and recorded, I'm not resting until I've gotten everything else discovered, either. I ain't gonna miss a thing. [/randomaerosmithreferencetypething]
Well, it certainly has been a long time! I'll spoiler an explanation (including technical details! Hooray!) of what went wrong here if you care to read it. If not, just continue on..
It turns out TightVNC, which I run on my recording/Windows system for remote admin purposes has UPnP enabled by default. My ISP-provided router, which I'm tied into using for various reasons also has UPnP enabled by default. It did not cross my mind that UPnP would ever be enabled by default. I can sort of understand on a router, but why on Earth would remote access software which should default to secure settings enable a massive security hole of a protocol like that by default?
Anyway, a bot managed to brute-force the password I had set and access my system. As far as I could tell, all it did was spam things into various textboxes and on Facebook. Not too bad, but I decided the best course of action (keeping speed in mind) would be to wipe the system completely and reinstall Windows, and so I did. Of course, doing a badly planned reinstall in a flurry like that results in losing save data. This, combined with life in general throwing lots of busy-work at me put a bit of a crimp on let's plays, so.. apologies for that!
All is well again now though, so video should resume proper!
Basically, I am going to resume to let's play, hopefully having some parts up within a week. I'm also going to be doing The Great Work, since that is yet another game I've wanted to play since I first heard of it.
Also, I fixed the thumbnails in the first post! Blame that on me switching VPS providers and completely forgetting I had them stored there.. my bad!
Another double post, but having completed all of the bells, I'm now onto finding all of the secrets I can.
I have the one under the chapter 3 entrance
complete... mostly. Let me know if I missed anything there though, because I don't want to let anything slip!
I do recall someone saying I missed some things in the interlude, so I'll be exploring that next!
