After a long time I finally release the version 1.3.1 of KSO, now with hollogram and umbrella working fine!

Er...Okay, my noobness is showing, but I may need a manual or tutorial, as I have no idea what this is, if I should install it in a certain place, where I'm going, what I'm doing, or who the president is.
It can perhaps be readme.txt time, pleez?

1. Download (if it's isn't done ) Knytt Stories ARCHIVE (v 1.2.1) and extract it somewhere,
2. Download KSO V 1.3.1 and extract it in the same directory that Knytt Stories original game (where knytt stories.exe is placed)
3. Launch Knytt Stories Online v 1.3.1 and set an name and an clothe color.
4. Play a story like in the original game.
Notes : In main screen, left panel shows curently playeds stories and right panel showes the last KSO news (versions,notes,gliches,improves,etc)
And no you aren't a noob, real noobs talk in SMS language (argh) and don't ask kindly for Help. ;)

So I was playing online with someone on The Machine, and the text box was spamming zeros. Is that some glitch?

Hahahaha, the easter egg on the main mnu with the spinning dots to speed them up is still there! But because the window was resized it's not in the center anymore, it's in the same place it was before, a little up-left from the center.
Also, there is still the "Object is already listening" error when you join a channel. Probably because you are trying to connect again even though you are already conencted? Lacewing stays connected across frames, you know. ;)

Hows this ingenious little project going? I've never actually had the chance to play it with anyone, but I think it's cool like Goonies.

I think the problem lies in the need to plan to play this thing, and there are not very efficient methods of doing so at this time. We can endlessly post requests to the forums and miss each other by minutes, hours, days. You almost need a way to see at a glance who is online so you can instantaneously pm them.

I will be looking for some1 to play regularly, because I love the idea with making Knytt Stories an online game!

how possible would it be to make levels for kso which require more than one player? Something like one person has to throw a switch to let the other in, then back and forth, or whatever.

It'd require a new level format sepearte from the regular format that specified number of players and thier starting positions.

Hmmm... starting points are save points, aren't they? So as long as your save point wasn't within the locked area that would be fine, you'd just have to find each other. And as for number of players, as long as a player knows how many players they would need to beat the level, there is no real problem there either, right? Or is the "number of players" problem because of flag issues that would quite work right?

Correct me if I'm completely wrong, but... couldn't that be implemented via unused object slots? For example, we could reserve object 40 of bank 0 (currently unused in normal KS) for a second player start point. That way, the level would still be compatible with normal KS, while KS online would use that object to set a starting point for a second player. The only problem would be setting the starting default power-ups for that player, although that could be solved just by making that alternative start point share the same default power-ups as the normal one.

Actually I enjoy playing normal lvls as long as there are ppl that want to play with me! So I recently look for anyone to play with... Also making a lvl for at least 2 players is IMO easy, if only the players would go their own ways, but it's a lot of work...

By starting points I mean the place you start when you start a new save file that hadn't had you saved anywhere. The place Knytt starts in the editor.

I haven't the source code on the computer i'm writing from so i couldn't fix it now... sorry for this. :sad:

Happily; the crash of the site don't make the game unplayable.
It's really usefull beaucause I'm working on a big upgrade of the game so i could'nt release any new version.
Oh and BTW ; please post on the new kso topic thanks. :)

when i try to download kso on the new website, it takes me to a page in a forign language that has a picture of a pokemon. zack is displeased. :/

An asshole hacked this place so i backuped my files and deleted everything to prevent more hacking. The new website (in construction) of kso is there : kso

so i could securize KSO at maximall level (SQL injection (i gess the hacker that hacked the old kso website used that...) ; XSS ; include fails ; etc ...) 8D

Hugo, by any chance, will you ever be releasing servers? Such as a "Host your own server on a certain level".
If you know what I mean (by hosting servers).
A user can join any server from a list of hosted servers. With the hosts loaded level.

Could go in appdata? It could delete opon disconnecting. Also, to connect to a server...Could there be a list or a manual IP connect?
