Wow. I haven't made a knytt stories level in.... 4 years?
After I burned myself out on my 'Run the Gauntlet" levels, I guess I needed a break from KS.

But now I have returned (for now at least).

This is a VERY short level that is essentially just me getting my feet wet again. Nothing fancy here. No custom work or shifts. I did however try to push my artistic side though and tried to add depth to the scenery. I would very much so appreciate feed back on how I did with that.

And don't worry, unlike in the Run the Gauntlet levels, there is no heavy handed story being shoved into your face here.
So yeah. Feedback would be lovely as I intend to start on a new level soon and will probably try my hand at custom backgrounds again.

So anyways, Here it is.

Hope y'all enjoy.

After a month or so of work, it's finally ready!  C)p

This here is the next part to Run the Gauntlet: Prologue.

It's bigger and better than any other level I've made yet.

It features:
-6 of my own custom objects.
-4 of my own custom tilesets.
-2 secret areas.
-1 custom enemy.
-And one custom song played by me!

Well, what are you doing reading this still? Go! Download! Run the Gauntlet!!!!

Important Note: You will need KS Ex for Part 1 to work 100%. You can find it here
You can play the level without KS Ex, just the final area won't have a very cool custom enemy I made.

Oh, right. You'll want to play the Prologue before you play this level.

Enjoy!!

Alrighty. Here is my second level "Run the Gauntlet: Prolouge" Part of a level competition with the theme of "Corruption"
The story line was inspired by the video game Portal.

It is the introduction to the next part of the story which is already in the works. So, consider this part 0 if you will.

It has 2 tilesets made by myself. (Which include small bits of tilesets made by Nifflas and LPChip)

There is one secret area so keep your eyes open. (Shouldn't be too hard to find though)

Let me know how you like it!

Have fun!

For a new level I'm working on, I wanted a ruined town tileset that also had a "normal" version of it. Since there are none like that by default, I thought that the "Nowhere" Tileset by Richard Dunn would work nicely.

Thing is, after doing some poking around on here, I can't tell for sure what kind of permissions I need in order to use it. I have seen on other topics that minor changes are okay without the makers permission, but I didn't make just minor changes.

I suppose the easiest way to explain the changes I made is to just show you.

155 is the normal "Nowhere". 255 is the version I made of it.

I do recall that in the level Gaia, there was a tweaked "Nowhere" used. (Which partly inspired me to make my own)

So, before I get to the part in the level where I want to use it, I would like to know can I use it, after doing lots of editing to it, without permission? I haven't a clue how to contact Richard Dunn...

In my new level "The Cursed City" There is a part where the I needed the player to lose 3 power ups. I know how to set the flag with the shift to take the power up, but the problem I ran into was that I had to set 3 different shifts in 3 different screens in order for it to work right.

For example: (Reveals some plot points of the level. Hence the spoiler tags)

Thing is, I can only set 3 shifts in a screen, and i needed one of those shifts for the door. Plus, if I had two shifts take away powers at the same time and place, only one gets removed.

Thus I had to take double jump as the player entered the room, take away high jump during cutscene, and then start the player on a shift to take the eye.

I suppose my real question is, does anyone know of any better/easier ways to do this? Because, I really didn't like having to take the double jump as the player entered the room.
Thanks.

Well, this is my very first attempt at making my own KS level. I've played this game for a long time now and finally tried my hand at the level editor.

After about a week or so, I made The Cursed City.

Please forgive me ahead of time for the cut-scenes "jumping" around or white areas in them. I have yet to fully master cropping.

This level is mostly environmental, but has a few challenging areas with baddies.
Hope you enjoy!

Just sort by Author and look for LordMarzog or find it however you like :p
(Thanks to Raicuparta for pointing out a shift error. I also fixed a void screen)

Note: there are not any custom items in this map, but I hope you will try it anyways.
