Happy New Year, guys!

I was thinking about this for a very long time, but I finally managed to do it. Here are my oldest levels, that did not have topic on the forums. Most of them are quite short and with a simple story (or no story at all) but what can you except - it has been more than twelve years.

I replayed them all and since this post is actually republishing them again (they were present only on the KS Level Archive, sice they were originally published on the old forum), I fixed some annoying bugs in the design and typos in the dialogues and cutscenes. But mostly I kept them as they are.

So now, here they are.

The Strange Deep Forest

The Strange Deep Forest is the first level I ever created. It is just a tiny adventure made using the default assets coming from Within A Deep Forest.

Juni's Sister

Juni’s Sister is the second of my three initial levels released together one December evening in 2007. It is another small adventure situated in the Knytt World and follows classic KS story about looking for someone or something. Unlike its predecessor, this level does contain multiple environment changes. Before I spoil you everything, give the level a try. And try to be calm about it, these three levels are really quite old.

Waterless land

Waterless land is the last of the three Knytt Stories levels I initially released. After playing the original level for Knytt Stories The Machine, I was so inspired that I decided to make my own variation of it. For a starting level designer, it was biting off more that I could chew, so I ended with much smaller world. I made the level it back in 2007 so don’t except some epic story, it just somehow stopped raining. Your task is to help your sister to save the world. Don’t ask for details, just take it as is.

Ghost Land

Ghost Land is a level Dadak created in collaboration with me while I was teaching him how the Level Editor can be used. It was released a just while after my three initial Knytt Stories levels in early 2008, so a short easy challenge is what you should except. Level size is tiny.

The Mine

The Mine is another level I created in collaboration with Dadak. Juni was left and locked out in the mining facility. Will she be able to return back to the surface?

Underground of The Deep Forest

Underground of The Deep Forest is a sequel to the original The Strange Deep Forest. This time you have been locked in the underground. Will you be able to find all keys and unlock the gate back to the surface? It is a short challenge, but after the years I enjoyed replaying it. So I hope you will too.

Note: This post is just a compilation of the recent posts on my blog I created in 2015 to share my KS content. That time I ended just with the tilesets. Now, after five years, I found out it the site was still up so I decided to finish the work I abandoned before. And then I realised it would be a nice to post it on the forums too. You might find some additional interesting info about these levels there and hopefully about the newer ones in the future.

Knytt Experiment / Database availability
« on: November 18, 2019, 21:22:14 »
Hello all,
today I got a nostalgic vibe, so I wanted to play the Knytt Experiment. However, it seems the server is dead?
Does anyone have the areas downloaded? In that case, could they be added to niffpage?

7 Light-years / mouse sensitivity problem
« on: July 18, 2016, 20:42:17 »
Hi, I wanted to play this game (linux version), but I have some problems with mouse sensitivity.
If I move mouse even a bit, I instantly crash into the "wall". I tried to change the ingame sensitivity with , but with no result.

Game "7 Nanocycles" works OK. I have not tested Windows version yet, but I'll try later.

« on: January 02, 2016, 17:55:13 »
Hi, I was planing working some bigger project, but it ended unfinished.
The plan was to create a series of levels - of Juni waliking in the Happlyand Adventures world.
But I modified some tiles from SpriteLib library for Knytt Stories.

The first level of the series now stays as the demonstration of the tileset usage. Try it, if you wish.

Some KS+ features are demonstrated there too.

Tilesets were made using Gimp, I add source files, if someone want to continue.

Original post:

In the forums there is a lot of custom content, that is just lost. When I browsed the KS custom level content, I found out, there are many topics, in which the image links are dead, because the original files were deleted from the image sharing archives... I know it is possible to ask the author to re-upload it, but not in all cases.

This must be stopped, or we at least have to prevent the loss of the content. I decided to create an archive with all the graphics, that are still present. I know there was something like Gaeels' site (but that time I was not here on forums) and currently that site is down...

My plan is to enable a fulltext search within the tilesets using keywords (tags) in a most easiest way. (There are many topics looking for a tileset with specific theme). I know there are many ways how to do it, but I think the simpliest way will be best, to iclude keywords in the filename. This should be easily transferable. The archive is not so big (currently about 30MB), so it is possible to download it whole and search within it just using file explorer.

2015 version:

Download the archive: Knytt_Stories-CustomContent.zip

Missing content? Have something that is not present? You can use Dropbox uploaded feature, however that will require entering your email, so only if you are fine with that. Other way is to upload the files elsewhere and send me a PM with a download link. I will then include it in the archive.

Development Showcase / Muffy's Adventure (plaform game)
« on: February 23, 2013, 21:02:05 »
Hi,
On grammar school, where I study, we have programming classes. I had to make some program as the end of year work again (like my last year's Mastermind). I choosed a game again. I remembered playing some games like Happyland Adventures or Knytt Stories, so I decided to make a side-scrolling platformer.

Because we are programming in Object Pacsal in Delphi 7, which is not very suitable for making games, I coded plenty of things myself and I used just DirectX DelphiX components for drawing. I had no experience in programing games -  I just used GameMaker for a while, so it was really hard and I spend a half of year on it...

The game is still not finished and it has many bugs.
But please, write me, what do you think about it.

Download
Keys: arrows to move, space to jump (double press to double jump) enter to select

I used the same graphic as the author of Happyland Adventures - the spritelib graphic library. The music is form some Game maker's resoruce pack.

If you like it, you can make some levels, because I have no time to design more...

Development Showcase / Mastermind (logic game)
« on: June 22, 2012, 21:57:59 »
Last year I started learning programming at school.
At the end of the school year we had to make some game as a "end of term work".
I have choosen Mastermind.

It is my first game in Delphi, it uses its default components.
It is very simple, so be sorry, if you expect something special.

I decided to publish some of my old creations - they are mostly remixes of existing tilesets.
