Oh man this level was fun! It had a very similar feel to Gustav's Daughter but was unique in its own way. I did notice a couple small errors like non-solid walls or solid background objects but nothing severe enough to break the level or distract from the experience.
Everyone should definitely play it!
I loved that the cave guy made a comeback. X)
Thank you.
I will make new version as soon as someone finds even more errors.
I am gonna to include him in every level I make.
-Wallswims if you use the umbrella to fly leftwards from the old "GTFO of my cave guy"
This is a bit of a problem. The way the screens are designed make you think it's a jumping puzzle and you should go there at some point to get a powerup, so a lot of people WILL go there.
Edit: Also, there is no clear indication that you got the hologram powerup. You're just supposed to know that pressing down did something.
Just finished this. I really liked it! I had a couple issues with it, though: first, I'm not sure what you were going for with the trees and grass and other things stuck in the background in most of the "overworld" screens. They just didn't look as nice as the rest of the game did. Second, in the tower of the wind:
it was really hard to see at first which tiles had the Bank 15 Obj 5 on them. I think the background was way too light here. It obscured the savepoints too.
Last, it felt like the intro was missing a slide. That might just be me, though.
Other than that, it was pretty great! I thought the houses were a bit small on the inside, but that's really just a niggle. And I loved the village in the green cave.
I haven't finished the level yet (There might be an edit to this post when I do), but I like how you keep the player from going too high in some places by blocking them with clouds.
It reminds me of the balcony area near the end of Cave Story.
