Hi
I did try a search on this, but to no avail.
I'm in the planning stage of my first custom story, and it's going to be pretty big and require lots of CO's, but in the CO bank, the 'OBJ#' item boxes only go up to 48. There's 255 slots, so is there any way to utilise 49-255?
Thanks, gunpowdertea

There were only 48 icons made, but all 255 slots are usable. There just isn't 255 icons.

Hmm. I just tried making an 'Object 49' but because there's no icon I can't place anything on the workscreen, so it doesn't recognise it as anything and nothing shows up.
So do I need to make icons to use 49-255?

No, you can place objects 49-255, you just can't see them or any representation of them in the editor.

I just tried something.
I made a 24x24 icon (a simple black box that says 49).
Then placed it in: /Knytt Stories/Data/Objects/Bank255/'Object49' and it works perfectly. I can use/see it in the editor.
I'm just wondering if this will be ok (i.e. not mess with core game files, or if I'm playing a level made by someone else whose used a CO49, will there be any conflict?) since I put it in the KS metadata (or whatever it's called) folder and not the 'my level specific' one. Anyone know?

Nothing will happen.

Thanks

You can do this, but the only thing that you have to keep in mind, is that this image will be shown in other levels as well. This can become a problem if you want to use custom objects in future levels, and can become confusing if you haven't actually added that object to your level, while the editor does show the icon. There has been made some icons with 49-255 and has been put somewhere. I can't remember where though...

A black box with "49" in it could represent custom object 49 in any level, Mr. Chip. It's not specific to one level. And if you don't have an object 49, you wouldn't use it anyway.

My bad, I didn't read that he put 49 in it.
