Currently working on this for the latest Knytt Stories competition.
Talps make an environmental! Surely not! It's ok! It has poetry in it, and poetry makes everything ok!
There's not much plot. It's a journey through a night-time environment with changing times and stuff. It's pretty (hopefully).
Currently about 2 thirds done and waiting for someone to get back to me about a tileset. I'll probably ask for beta testers once I get that far.
Features pretty environments, original poetry, a few original tilesets, custom music, some very lovely custom objects courtesy of Raicuparta, and probably some secrets if I can find space for one or two more hiding places. The level is being built with Egomassive's KS+ Knytt Stories Mod, so you'll need to download that to play this level.

Thanks everyone. It's really nice to hear you're interested. :) Silly, unimportant things like work are keeping my busy at the moment, but this is still slowly developing.
Sergiocornaga very kindly developed a night-time version of his tileset, 'Vestiges', for me to use, so thanks to him. The first screen I made with it is below (this might be the last screenshot I add to this thread, as most of the rest of the level will use this tileset).
I'm currently wondering about adding some collectible secrets from Ego's hoard. It depends on whether I end up with enough suitable hiding places. And if I can think of a reward that justifies the effort.

I'm happy to see my tileset is working out for you. I know the emphasis it puts on overlapping isn't very user-friendly, so that scene's very impressive to me.
Although, I'm wondering now if I should make the flower stalks a lighter colour... hmm...

Will you use "Golden Creatures" from ego's mod? It's my fovourite feature of this mod, but it isn't in any custom level I know.

No kidding. I have ALL your levels. I like especially your first The Coming Of The Dark, then I Dreamed Of The Sky and Eurydice. X-P

That is like the illegitimate older son of my level family that got himself in with bad people and no one likes to talk about!
Golden creatures may be incorporated, but as yet I make no promises. It'd be dependant on a couple of things.

Sorry for double-post.
Last night, I put some of the secrets I had planned in the level and tried it out; sadly, I found it rather broke the atmosphere of the thing. It became less about the journey and more of a scavenger hunt. So I've decided there won't be any secrets to find; it's just better without them.
Apologies if this causes disappointment, but it's better this way. There will still be one or two hidden screens but their purpose will be entirely cosmetic.

I can understand that, I think. I'm a real sucker for Colors (as that was my first non-nifflas, Hard level completion) and Ascension (Which was the first Hard "trick-jump" level I got through.).

True; I fondly recall 'Cyborg Juni', though it's the kind of lunatic level I'd hate now.

Friends! I've just made the final screen; all that remains is to make the closing cutscene and do some testing. To the latter end, I'll be asking a few people if they'd be willing to test. I may take one or two other people so feel free to offer your services here, but don't take offence if you're not accepted; I want to get this released fairly soon and as it's a mere competition level, I won't take testing... too seriously. Plus it's my first (perhaps only, ever) environmental, so I'm not expecting it to be as wonderful as I wanted IDotS to be.
Anyway, feel free to offer. I'll be sending some PMs in a day or two.

The people I asked to test both agreed to do so, so unless there's a big issue I won't be bringing anyone else in, but thanks for offering, Fubaka ;)
Hopefully I'll be able to get this out soon. Christmas present to the forums? (The level's not at all Christmassy.)

Just to explain.
Was busy over Christmas. Not really less busy now (partly 'cus of 'Knytt Underground'). Got a big Minecraft event coming up this weekend; after that, I'll hopefully have time to stop being lazy and go through my testers' comments and finish this.

Well, just what I needed. I didn't really go out of my way to use it. The map works. There are titles, one-way jumps and triggers... Bits and pieces as they proved useful.
They're deeply incorporated but not used obsessively.
I'll try and go through the testing results this week, and hopefully get it released very soon.
