Title: [Adventure/Flash/8bit-like]Don't Look Back
Post by: Teper on June 21, 2009, 18:45:48

The player is a man who goes down in the demons world to save his lover's soul.
Released in 2009, very enjoyable, the player has no lives,  and each screen autosaves.

Play online (http://www.kongregate.com/games/TerryCavanagh/dont-look-back)

This is a really good game. Its just hard enough to be challenging without being frustrating, and it looks great for using so few colors.
I particularly liked the ending, even if it was a little too obvious (I figured out what was going to happen just a couple of screens before reaching it), its pretty clever, which kinda makes up for it.

Think I remember playing this.

EDIT: It doesn't auto save every screen.

I didn't get the ending at all.

This is a neat little game.  I admittedly got creeped out by some of the aggressive sound effects like the demons snarling and the girl gasping.  Still don't completely understand the ending even after reading the above explanations.  But oh well, it was enjoyable. :)

I didn't think of that until after I had played the game.
