Registration has been enabled today again, and so far no new spammers have registered. I'll leave registration on unless the spamwave picks up again. Admin approval remains in effect though.

Due to an increased spamwave last few days, I've temporarily disabled registration.

I'll re-enable registration next weekend and see if the spamwave has stopped. If not, I'll disable it again.

If you are still looking to get an account, please join our Niffcord Discord server by following this link: and contact a staff member there. After you tell us your desired username and email address, we'll register an account for you manually, and give you a temporary password that you can change after you succesfully validated your account.

I'm sorry for all the trouble, but I hope you understand.

Granted. You can. In fact you already could. It just hurts. But you learn to go through the pain and now your feet don't feel anything anymore. On a hot day, you walk over hot pavement and you don't feel that your soles are burned off and you only realise the problem when you see that your feet start to bleed and you need to get emergency surgery with 5 months of recovery time.

I wish I could control time in such way that I can make it go faster or slower without it affecting me. So if I need to wait, I just speed up time, and if I need more time to complete something, I just slow time down.

Oh, i would but I just finished wrapping mine and have a severe papercut. I'm still recovering. I estimate to heal in about 4 days. I can help you them though...

Could you be a dear and help Polana with her Christmas presents wrapping problem?

I would. I definitely would... But I kinda missed your post earlier, so tonight is like a month ago. Sorry....

Would you be so kind to give me a massage? My body is very stiff due to the cold winter.

Granted. I have made this special grapefruit ice-cream available to you. It is a reasonable amount, exactly as you think it should be. There is a secret militairy base on Antartica, and the ice-cream can be collected there after you show them the code I sent to you by PM. The ice-cream is free of charge of course. How you get there is up to you. The code can be used as many times as you want, which turns this into an  unlimited supply.

I wish XPlane 12 developers would fix the savefile bugs that is bugging me for the last 3 releases, so I can update from my b13 release to RC3.

You're welcome. :)

With help from J(he hosts it) and Kilicool64(reminded me of this page), you can find 2 version here: http://niffpage.greywool.com/files/Games/

If you really are remixing the level, then people usually are okay with it, but get permission if you can beforehand.

That said: if you download a level, make a few changes but most of the level is completely the same, then its not considered a remix.

A remix is basically, create a new level that is heavily inspired by the original where there are sections you can recognise from the original, but also have completely new sections that were not in the original. If its too close to the original without any new sections, its considered a cover, not a remix, and unless very careful planning and execution was done, most people will think you are trying to rip off the original level and claim it as your own, or just not find enough changes to warrant their time.

So if you can add enough new things to the level and also make it harder, I'm pretty sure everyone will love it and the author of the level will not mind you remixing the level.

As level name, the first option or something similar would work best I'd say, but if you find a really good title that explains the changes, that would also work.

Knytt Stories / Re: How to fix performance issues?

The up arrow is something from the past. There is now a link  at the left that says "Give a star". Click that for it to work.

Also, if you have 2 graphics cards, for example a dedicated graphics card AND an integrated GPU from the CPU or motherboard, windows may wrongly do hardware accelleration over the integrated GPU with poor performance.

There's one problem that makes "North & South" unnecessarily complicated, and that's the lack of a coherent BPM. Either D Fast programmed the song in uncommon time, or the samples are layered such that you can't conventionally measure out how fast the song is going. Either way, it's frustrating.
Yes, that was one of the issues I had with it too. Note that you don't actually have to keep up with the exact songlength and BPM. You can just eyeball it if you wish. Its supposed to be a remix, not a remake. If I were not this uncomfortable with the genre that fits the song best, I would've made the song already.

So the best approach here is to put the original in a track at low volume and play along with that, section by section until you have enough that you can remove the original. But even then, its still hard, agreed. No quantization etc...

Dang, I actually would, for real... So the excuse I have is an actual excuse too... We don't actually live close, so its not really possible.

Would you be so kind to buy me a plane ticket so I can go to Talps and walk 8 miles with him?

Forum Games / Re: Have you ever?

Its technically not the same, but I think it counts...

We once had a school trip to germany and I really did not want to go. It was fairly pointless, too short to be fun and was more to practice the german language, something I wasn't good at either. I was old enough to drive, but did not have my drivers license and they planned the trip in a weekend and just expected everyone to sacrifice their free time for it.

I went to the teacher and told them I had my drivers license exam scheduled for that weekend and asked if I really had to go to that trip. They said, no you don't have to reschedule that exam, you're excused.

Later that week, they asked me if I passed, and I said I hadn't.

Have you ever done something for a stranger to help them that they didn't ask for it without expecting anything in return, and if so, what happened and how did you help them?

I do still talk to Nifflas occasionally. I can pass along a message for you, and I can point him to this topic too, so in essence you can post the question here and I can ask him to come here and respond. It will be up to him if he actually will do it though.
