Knytt Stories Level Releases / TheYeIIowDucK's KS Level Dump

A couple of years ago, TheYeIIowDucK compiled a .torrent of his sizeable KS Level collection and shared it here.(OT) There are a lot of interesting levels in the collection (including a couple dozen I thought were exceptionally good) and over fifty that are no longer available anywhere else.

Knytt Stories / Translations & Re-Localisations of KS Levels

I've got a dozen or so levels I've been trying to gradually translate into English or adjust for more clear English but without much progress. I've finally finished a couple to a sufficient degree to call them done, though. I'm not entirely happy with them but I feel there's only so much creative liberty I can take with another person's creation.
Permission was asked for (and granted) before I started fiddling around with them but, since that was two years ago, their creators are welcome to revoke it and I'll immediately take them down.

Knytt Stories / Levels for Knytt Stories' Mods

The best place to start, if you're new to KS modding, is GrayFace's Knytt Stories Mod List. It includes the numerous mods that aren't required for any specific levels (aswell as the third-party level editors) and accompanies each entry with a brief description.

If you have any comments or questions concerning a level without a forum thread, feel free to post it here. I'm happy to help wherever I'm able, as (I'm sure) are many other forum members.

Saira / Everything is so perfect!

I've just finished (yet) another playthrough of Saira and I wanted to mention how much I enjoyed every part of it, even after playing so many times over.

It seems that there's been little activity here for some time except for moaning which is a real shame. There's not a single thing about the game I'd want any differently; the movement is beautifully fluid and immersive, the platforming is just tricky enough to keep it rewarding and the puzzles need a good bit of thought and are amazingly inventive. On top of the gameplay it's all wrapped in gorgeous graphics and a gently melancholy story that's really touching.

I know I'm not the only person who was unreservedly thrilled and I think it's a shame we're not as vocal as people with complaints.

Collaborations / Translations

This isn't exactly the right place, I think, but it seems the most appropriate. Once I finish up a project I began first (a grammar-check for a forum member... unfortunately had a  HDD die on me so I've had to start again from scratch  :sad:) I'm going to translate Les boix venteux by Toudou1620 into english.

This is primarily for my benefit - I like to be able to read the dialogue and signs, and what little I've already translated is really good too IMO - but I was wondering what would be the polite way to handle things if and when I finish it. Obviously I'm not changing anything to imply that it's my work but I don't know any way to reach the author in order to ask his permission  :/

I'd like to be able to distribute it, assuming people would be interested in seeing it in english, but I don't want to go against the author's wishes. Anyone got any suggestions on the best way to handle this? Or even, if I'm really lucky, happen to know how to contact the author? (and write an email in french  :P2)

Knytt Stories / Your favourite KS levels

So this is (I'm afraid) partly a tedious request for level suggestions, but I also hope people will post their favourite levels regardless of whether they fit what I'm looking for  :P (I only ask that you make it clear if you're suggesting a level I try ^^)

I'm currently playing at, the consensus seems, hard to very hard depending, of course, on the creators view of difficulty  ;) I recently became moderately competent at precision jumping, wall-hugging and umbrella-hovering courtesy of Colors and both Frozen Mountain stages and I'm looking for more levels in a similar vein that people rate highly. The Knytt Stories Level Archive is very good in and of itself, but lacks any kind of rating system or even means for the author to input the descriptors of their level, turning it into a form of lucky dip. I've had a lot of success with the KS Level Releases section of this forum but I'm well aware that's only a very small cross-section of the available options  :(
