Hey, I finished this yesterday. It was a fun level with lots of nice challenges.

I liked the hub, although at times trekking to and from it was something of a chore. Maybe put in a series of teleporters that open up gradually as the game progresses?

Also, I think a few sections seemed somewhat unfair and luck-based, like the

Oh, and, I found a wallswim.

Still, I really enjoyed playing it, and hope to play more of your levels soon :)

The biggest problem I had with the level is that it was impossible to distinguish solid ground tiles from background ground tiles. You can easily die already on the fourth screen, because those things in the waterfall look pretty solid.

I did use the tiles without any outline for the background tiles, but fair point. I'll probably change them to the other colour scheme in the tileset.

I'll take out the no-climb wall, but I think I'll probably make another area to the level that

Thanks for the feedback! :)

Knytt Stories Level Releases / [Environmental] Midnight Rainstorm
« on: April 03, 2010, 12:29:05 »
This is my first level, a short environmental level unimaginatively named "Midnight Rainstorm". I think my choice of tileset combined with rain was unconsciously influenced by one area from Gaia, something I didn't realise until I'd finished making it XD

There are probably too many waterfalls, but eh. This started out as just me messing about with the level editor, and finished with what seemed like a level, so I figured I may as well give it a touch of vague story and release it to see what people think.

Anyway, link:

Hope you enjoy it!

This is easily one of my favourite KS levels, ever.

Great environments, great challenges that were tricky enough to test the skills of the player but not too hard to be frustrating, great story with the JCN (those shifts must have taken FOREVER X_X) and just all-round brilliant.

I salute you, B-Man!

Knytt Stories Level Releases / Re: [Challenge][Lunatic] Going Left

Fun level! Some rooms are very tough, but all doable. I also completely agree with everyone who pointed out the Portal vibe in this, which is of course no bad thing. There were also a few moments of absolute hilarity with the dialogue when you get flagged up for cheating XD

Now that I see somebody's mentioned multiple endings, I guess I'll have to go and re-play it :D

Knytt Stories Level Releases / Re: [challange] Strafe!
« on: April 03, 2010, 11:07:45 »
There's an evil addictiveness to this level that made me keep trying, as frustrating as it was, but I liked it. I don't think I've seen those tilesets before, they're really nice and suit the level well.

Then I realised that beyond the strafes there was another challenge! NO!
...But I know I'll end up playing it and trying it a thousand times until I clear it. I must be some kind of glutton for punishment.

Hmm, I really liked this. It may have been slightly linear, in that there was no backtracking, but the exploration to find the keys was pretty nice.

I really think that

Great level though!

(By the way, I'm new here, despite having lurked for almost a year now. Hello all!)
