Knytt Stories Level Previews / [Challenge][KS+] Mill
« on: March 23, 2013, 04:27:54 »

Yeah, I'm making another level. Egomassive's amazing KS+ mod inspired me into making a level or two in it.

What is Mill? It's a pretty plotless level, just focusing on Juni overcoming a highly mechanical mill in a hazy grassy plain. There's going to be a focus on obstacles as usual. It'll be a bit easier than usual fare, being around Hard to Very Hard (as I assume to the preference of most). I'm also making it more environmental and explorational than usual, so it'll be nonlinear. It'll be on the shorter side as well.

First off, it's done! Finally. I must apologize, this could have been released nearly a year sooner, but things like laziness, college, and other projects had gotten in the way. For four months it was sitting around in 99% completion, and only 2 days more work finished the job. I also apologize to the fans of Dark Sea 1 who may be alienated by the increased difficulty of the sequel.

Nonetheless, here's another adventure that Juni goes deep within, this time to the bottom of the sea and below to stop Professor Nuance's giant drill which would cause a tsunami if activated. Dark Sea 2 expands much much more than the first one, filled with custom tilesets, music, and custom objects. It's a long and packed challenge, taking well over an hour for a very skilled player and much much longer if not, so I recommend playing this over several sittings. I hate to call it Lunatic, as it doesn't feel like one to me, but it's got some super difficult areas so I'll reluctantly label it as such (with an -ish).

If you want to use tilesets/musics/custom objects from this level, feel free to ask me and give credit when used.

Knytt Stories Level Releases / [Challenge][Hard] Advanced
« on: July 06, 2011, 07:07:49 »
After about 4 hours in a row of working on this, it's done! It's a very short level, and all the graphics and music are done by myself. The screenshots practically give away the gimmick.

Oh NSF, I seem to forget you exist oh so often. I know for sure my KS Level-creating days are over, unless a rushing KS renaissance takes this place by storm. But, nonetheless, I'd rather not hold out some playable quality content for the few people around to enjoy.

Dark Sea 2 was my ambitious sequel to my popular level, Dark Sea. It revolved around navigating the gigantic sub, the Archetype 1, and worming your way into the evil underwater base of Professor Subtle or whatever his name was. This was one of my most high-graphics levels, with some creative narrative/atmospheric touches thrown in that would have really made this a gem of a level if it was seen to completion. Unfortunately, my time's devoted to more valuable projects, but I won't turn a blind eye to this forum if any of those come to real fruition. It's not to say that there isn't a decent amount of content here, it probably stacks up enough to make up a shortish-mediumish level, although it lacks some polish as far as difficulty balance goes.

Knytt Stories Level Releases / [Challenge][Very Lunatic] Safety III
« on: September 15, 2010, 05:15:46 »
Well I'm not sure I know why I made it but here ya go! This is by far the easiest safety yet, to the point where I'm not sure it's "Very Lunatic" any more. (Safety 2 is definitely the hardest of them) Needless to say, however, is that this still is a remarkably difficult level (but in a fair manner). Since I used every power-up in the first two games, this has you using 2 power-ups for each section.

Also, forgot to credit that I used the song Packet Router variation 2 by Nifflas from the OS OST.

Well, I sure haven't posted anything new in a good while. I've been juggling doing FiNCK stuff, KS stuff, and more importantly, programming my own game. But I digress.

Amidst the Clouds was an ambitious little project I began who knows when and canceled it some time or another. The level is nice and all and probably could be made into a real dandy of a level, but I just wasn't feeling it. If I get overwhelming amounts of people going into manic depression over me not finishing this, I may reconsider the cancellation, but otherwise, no further progress will be done in this level. Bits and pieces will be incorporated into Dark Sea 2 whenever that gets really worked on.

Since it's uncompleted, excuse any glitches or dumb things of the like. It's got a decent amount of content in it to make it worthy of posting, and it definitely has a lot of work put into it.

Knytt Stories Level Previews / [Challenge][Very Hard] Dark Sea 2
« on: April 04, 2010, 06:34:23 »
Unfortunately, I have canceled my older project Amidst the Clouds. For all of you who were looking forward to that, I'll probably post the unfinished beta of it sometime (it's got some decent length to it, but I wont continue ATC unless like everyone ever goes into a manic depression because it was canceled). However, on the plus side, I'm scrapping ATC's parts to help me make my newest project, the actual sequel to Dark Sea.

The level involves Juni trying to go to the Lab of Professor Nuance via his submarine, the Archetype 1, which mysteriously is sitting out at sea, unattended. Juni has to go through many satellite underwater bases in order to safely make it to Nuance's main lab way down at the ocean floor. The level has a lot of the feel of Dark Sea, but also an enhanced influence of AUA.

(On the first screen you can already see I'm re-using the boat from Amidst the Clouds  :P2)

This is a very short and silly level I made start to finish within 6 hours today. I'm not sure why I made it, but whatever.

Knytt Stories - Custom Content / [Tileset] An Icy Place
« on: March 28, 2010, 06:02:15 »
A sorta this-and-that platformy tileset made by a request.

(If anyone has any reasonable requests can toss me a PM for the time being)

Knytt Stories - Custom Content / Industrial Trap Tilesets
« on: March 23, 2010, 01:35:38 »
I won't be using them again, and they're nice tiles, so I thought maybe somebody would want them.

An old factory has started up again, polluting the air. The neighboring knytt village sends Juni to investigate, but can she stop it?

This little level was started for the (what I assume is) defunct contest topic. It's focused mostly on gameplay, and sports 2 endings to it.

I got longer projects I could have been working on but it's nice to make a decent short one too.

I originally started this one with the intent to submit it as a contest entry, but I don't think that's happening anymore. Nonetheless, I'm still finishing it. Industrial Trap is a short-ish level, focused mostly on gameplay (as is most all of my levels), with some puzzle elements garnishing it. I'm over half way done with this, and working on it quite productively, so you can expect a release soon. The tilesets are made by me.

This is The Safety Sequal (Because It's Better To Misspell "Sequel"), of which I made on a whim. This level is the sequel to the abhorrently hard level of mine called Safety. The name should be The Safety Sequel, but I decided to keep the name misspelt (you can call it TSSBIBTMS or Safety 2 for short). Anyway, this level is apparently harder than the first Safety, using the 3 power-ups not implemented in that incarnation. This level requires pitch perfect timing, microscopic precision, and dedication beyond belief to complete.

Download if you dare.

Seeing as my other projects are going rather slowly, I picked up this level as I thought I'd finish it moderately quicker. This is Amidst The Clouds, the spiritual sequel to Dark Sea, but only in style. This level features Juni exploring an air fortress, to see what it's purpose is and hopefully stop it from blocking the sun over the city below. Custom objects, tilesets, and music will abound. I'm betting it will be Very Hard, but it might be a little bit easier than that.

15
A level I though I'd never post due to the sheer difficulty and surgical precision of it all.

This level is Safety, a short and straightforward level with two difficulties: Lunatic, and yes, Very Lunatic (for a lack of a better term). There's not much more to explain that the screenshots do not.
