Post by: swoopman2 on January 10, 2012, 23:15:55
I don't know how to post/send my levels, could someone tell me a site that would be good for such things?

Not for finished levels, but to upload it to beta testers. Thanks though, I never knew.

Ah. Well when you have a .knytt.bin file you can basically put it anywhere you want, like sendspace, mediashare, rapidfire, etc... Even dropbox.

 O_o Ummmm....

Maybe you could put some sort of a step by step guide, because I have no clue what a .knytt.bin file is.

You should read the Forum FAQ (http://nifflas.lpchip.nl/index.php?topic=30.0). Here is a relevant excerpt:

I've finished my level! How do I get it to other people?
First: edit the metadata of your level using the Knytt Stories Manager (in the editor, under the menu "3rd Party Tools", "Knytt Stories Manager (world properties)".). Make sure to set title and author to what you want them to be, if they aren't already what you want, and set the type and difficulty of your level. You can also change your level's icon and info screen, and its intro and ending cutscenes. Next, with your level open in the editor, under the menu "Level", select "Compress". Then, upload the resulting .knytt.bin file to the archive (http://www.knyttlevels.com/), making sure you've followed the level submission rules (http://nifflas.ni2.se/forum/index.php?topic=40.0).

I looked at the manager thing, but I cannot find the menu called "Level".

One step forward, two steps back

Please read carefully.

The Knytt Stories Manager, is to ensure that you have the right data in your level before you compress it. Once you have your level ready for sharing, you can compress it from the level editor itself under the level menu.
