a fern isn't a bush OR a tree. ferns don't have a vascular system, which means they can't move oxygen through their stems to their leaves... thanks botany 2100! (i'm a bio major ya'll)
Wow, that looks nice! Small gripe, though, the giant fly kinda looks MS Paint-y. :(
Also, this reminds me of both Nifflas' The Machine and Star Fox Adventures. X)
Your welcome. :) And Star Fox Adventures isn't as bad as everyone says, they're just not used to it. That was the first Star Fox game I've played, so I liked it. :3Wow, that looks nice! Small gripe, though, the giant fly kinda looks MS Paint-y. :(

I was playing star fox adventures recently so that would explain that lol, And the machine idea just felt like a smart idea...I don't know lol :P
Anyway, The wasp was created In Ms paint however don't worry. It has been improved greatly. Thanks for the feedback too! :)
Ehhh...honestly I don't like those screens at all, especially the GIANT MS PAINT FLY. Still, the fact it has bosses makes it intriguing.
In the new screenshot, having the Elder say "Press down," kind of breaks the fourth wall. :/

You lost me at the start XD
I'l try and think of a better, more understandable name then. :)
Ok the name is now, The legend of Gardon.
Refer to the first post for details.
And can the level be named The Legend of Gordon?Gardon, not Gordon. :P

How about "plant".
And can the level be named The Legend of Gordon? The name and plot sound very suspiciously like The Legend of Zelda (your avatar and username don't help either). Is that intentional?
There is also possibly a Zelda theme somewhere in the level but only because I think this song adds the perfect atmosphere to that certain area. :)Do you have permission from Nintendo to use it? Because I bet that the LoZ theme is copyrighted. :/ All it takes is an e-mail. And remember to include that the level is free to play.
Would you please lend me Nintendos email?Well, I'd ask a mod first everything you need to include in the e-mail. And, while I do like the looks of this, I'm kinda busy with a level of my own, and I don't want to take up the last beta-tester spot. It would feel like I bribed you.
I don't want to cause an issue with anyone. I'm sure Nintendo shall understand, Especialy since it is a free Game. :)
Anyway. Pm the email of Nintendo to me and in return you can be the final Beta tester, You seem to have taken an interest in this level. ;)

EDIT: You can find Nintendo's e-mail on the instruction book of every Nintendo game.
I dunno. Ask a mod (Or, better yet, Nifflas. :U). Or, if it was me, I would go to Newgrounds or somewhere and find a LoZ Remix and ask them if I could use it. Newgrounds has a policy (probably) about illegal content, so they would most likely take down all of the illegal content, which includes copyright infringment. But, that's just me.Would you please lend me Nintendos email?Well, I'd ask a mod first everything you need to include in the e-mail. Ok then, I understand. :) And by the way, Once I email them, What should I say to them? (I'm feeling nervous :D)
I believe limanjs16 (or James16) managed to get approval from Moby to use music in a level.
And for non-profit projects (small or big) if you ask politely (grab their email from the official site) they'll often grant authorization. Send them a link to download KS for themselves, so they can see what game their music is going to, tell them that you want to use one of their tunes in a level that you're designing to release to the community (maybe even send them a draft of the level) and ask for permission to use the music, and chances are it'll work.
Don't think that because their face is on the cover of "Rolling Stones" that they're untouchable and not interested. (although due to the sheer mass of emails that they recieve, it may take some time, and sometimes they'll not respond, or say no).
maybe this post is a little helpful about how a good approach would be:I believe limanjs16 (or James16) managed to get approval from Moby to use music in a level.

Thanks, but what's there to be worried about? The worst they could say is no. :/maybe this post is a little helpful about how a good approach would be:I believe limanjs16 (or James16) managed to get approval from Moby to use music in a level.

So what your saying is I send them an email saying politly if I could use the theme in my Non profit level and then send a trailer of it? What if they don't have Knytt stories though Paula? And if they do take it, should I just include the part with the music or the whole level? And to keep this thread shorter as it is a preview, Please may you Pm me the details.
And thank you Paula. :)
Ps:Thanks to you too Pumkinbot, You have been a great help. ;)
http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/4601/nintendosheet.pngYes, but make sure to use as perfect grammar, punctuation, capitalization, etc as possible, because this needs to be professional. And I'd also add a link to download the game itself, too, because they might not know where to download the game.
How is that for a slice of persuasion? Nahh... X) but seriously, Is that ok?
And yes, I've fixed that spelling error on "Prodit" to profit :p

I havn't quite released the level yet though... What should I do there then? Send a link of just the area, their song is used in like a teaser? And By the way. Cucco's For the win! >:}
Thank you so much for all the help. I've sent it, All spell checked. ;)Cool, sure (but most of the time, friendships kinda go without saying. X)), and cool, but I'm kinda procrastinating on my level, and beta testing yours would be another excuse to procrstinate. :sigh:
Want to be friends then? :)
And by the way.
The beta is going to be avaliable extremly soon now. First my beta testers will need to test and help improve it. :)
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/4601/nintendosheet.png*reads* Hmm...This is Nintendo of America, a division of Nintendo. Not the official headquarters. I think it's saying that NOA doesn't have the authority to give you permission, but if you ask Nintendo headquarters in Japan, they can grant you permission...I think... :/
I think that would mean they Rejected it? I'm not too sure, could somebody verify please :|
NoA is the headquarters of Nintendo in America. There's no reason Nintendo in Japan would give permission if NoA wouldn't, and they'd likely redirect any English inquiries to Nintendo of America....wut? XD Then I have no idea why they don't have the authority to let him use that song.

Who said they didn't? That reply just says that Nintendo properties are so popular that they get constant requests for permission for their use, and that because they get so many, they can't possibly reasonably examine each one and give permission based on what it's for. So, they just reject requests, and suggest that it might be possible for you to use some of their property under fair use depending on where you live.

Basicly guys, My level is going fine BUT... It will take quite a few weeks before its complete as i'm being helped by a good friend on the forum with it currently. (Guess who :P) Anyway i'm releasing another short/medium level soon to give you something to in the mean time. :)
And I may still use the theme. As Googoogjoob explained, They don't probs read everyones emails thoroughly. Heck, its maybe even a bot repeating the same anwser all the time! Anyway, I did explain that this level is part of a non profit game plus the Theme is quite old. In conclusion I'm considering still using it. The themes only in a small area anyway.
Pumkinbot, As I said I MIGHT consider using it. I am aware of the rules and laws of copyright you know. If I have to remove it i'll just find a none copyright song instead.Uhh...Okay. :)
And by the way, I'm sending the beta to you now Via pm. :)
In an update, The level type has been decided, Thanks Pumpkinbot :DWell, what is it? Not to seem pushy or anything, but a level genre isn't something I'd keep secret.
