Hey everyone!
I have started a new level. It will have custom graphics and perhaps custom music too.
It wont be released until the new level archive, same goes for Mashu Prapa V.2. Im not using any tilesets
for this level, instead Im going to work with gradients and that stuff. There is no story yet.
-
well ill be the first to say that this looks pretty cool :)
-
And I am the second one :P
Great screenshots!

I have had many ideas for graphical experimentation like this. I love your style. :^^:
Tell me what format are you using if you are not making tilesets? Are you drawing an almost-transparent line over the background (1% opacity) or taking the "floor" layers and placing them in a tileset like I did with my Tale in the Desert level?
-
dang that second ones even better than the first :)

I made a gradient showing tiles just like a tileset then I made the picture with help of the tiles in the gradient so that I later could use invincible tiles in the editor as ground. And I did it in ms.paint, I tried first in gimp with layers but it took longer time and felt more uncomfortable.
-
Just a suggestion: make the ground a custom object. Anyway, I like the idea. :)
-
Oooh shiny new level... Anyway, graphics look cool. Reminds me of "An Untitled Story". Keep it up!
-
This really sounds rather interesting, Elder/Salmoneous. ;)
-
Actually, this looks good. :o Keep it up!
EDIT: Now that I study it, it looks like you're walking around in a MS Paint drawing instead of a real world (though it isn't real; you want it to look like it isn't. X)).

Agreed, I think it has to do with the streaks around the edge of the ground...
-
This screen is interesting. I love this scribble style. Well actually I think there may be a perspective problem, for Juni seems to be standing on the background. Nice work anyway, elder

His name is now Salmoneous :P2
anyway HELL YEAH another level by you WOO!! (loved uthoa and mushu prapa)
cant wait

I like the style too, and it's an interesting idea using invisible tiles and just gradients...

Kinda forces you to right angles and 45 degrees for walking though. 9_9
-
That's not necessarily a bad thing.
-
2 new screens.
-
that red one is awesome
-
That's exactly what I was thinking.
I think to colors and the background mixed with the crude foreground design is what makes it so awesome. ;)
Out of curiosity, are you using Bloxmaster's mod, KSA? I noticed the clothes seem to change color and the face/shirt in the red picture doesn't match the background in the sense that it could be transparency.
-
No, I think it's transparency. The black pixels around juni's face make it look darker.
-
As far as I can tell, neither screen was made using KSA.
-
The first screen is transparent 0,0,0 and that will be the clothes and skin color for the level.
-
Wow. Another reason I can't wait for the new level archive!
If you need any music for this level please don't hesitate to let me know!
<3 C) C)p

looking great!
I love how you've done the screens like a sort of rugged, natural terrain.
keep up the good work! ;)

Why? Anyway, this looks cool! The filesize will probably be MASSIVE, however. I'm concerned about that.
Still, it may be worth it, since those screens are so...
-
Not necessarily, custom graphics aren't large. It will have some custom music though so maybe.
-
Not necessarily, custom graphics aren't large.
Well he's using a new gradient for each screen. That could add up. If the level is big, the filesize will probably be too.
-
This looks incredible. Keep it up.
Me and CPW started something like this but didn't get very far :/ kinda lost interest.
But hopefully this'll turn out great.
