Title: [Challenge/Hard/Medium] Trials of curiosity v 1.1

Hello everyone!
This is my first serious knytt stories level, called "Trials of curiosity". It's an entry to the current knytt stories level competition hosted by Secretglitch.

the plot is about Juni (who else?) who finds a strange machine. Out of curiosity she explores it and finds herself in another adventure.

As this is my first level I would highly appreciate constructive criticism.

This is a nice level. The visuals are well done. The challenges are normal to hard but not very hard. My only gripes are minor ones. Overall, well done bulbapuck.

Now for the constructive criticism. There's no visual difference between walls you can climb and walls you can't. It's not necessary to differentiate, but unless you're making a masocore game it's nice to keep the rules consistent. Why is the starting point in the air? I noticed several issues with shifts. The one to the left of the starting point should not "Show Effect". After the shift, Juni's in the air again. Another shift doesn't work, x1000y1015, you may have intended it to be broken but the shift object is still there.

In the picture below, there's void access to the left. The arrow at the right points to a spot where Juni looks odd when climbing. The invisible object, bank 16 object 14, placed on layer 4 can fix these.

Thank you, I'm always eager to learn and this is really helpful :), one question though: how do you turn the effect off?

That you start in the air is just me being stupid, I once put grass on the wrong layer without realizing it and therefore thought you had to start in the air to avoid wallswims.

It's you who makes up the story of the Knytt investigating the machine. So, it's your rite to tell a story about anyone. So... ya know...

@ bulbapuck: To remove the shift effect with the third party tool. Select the shift you're using, Shift A for example. There's a check box that reads "Show Effect." It is checked by default. Un-check it and save.

To remove the shift effect in the world.ini add this code:

ShiftEffect(A)=Falseassuming you're using Shift A. Replace the 'A" with a 'B' or 'C' for the other shifts. It is True by default, so if you want the effect don't add the line.

I very much like this level, as I did the tileset you made for it. I don't have many complaints, and the ones I do have were already stated. Great job bulbapuck!

Gah, so challenging! And yes, like so many other people, I only got one key and still have to get any of the others. Congratulations on completing your first serious level, this is a very good start  :)

K dude, I worked hard, I stuck with it, and finally finished, though I think I died literally 50 times.  Then I see the doors.   :/  >(  Oh well.  Definitely a hard level man.  I'm amazed I had the patience to finish it.  Nice use of rooms, warps, and the tileset.

@Headgrinder: Thanks! I'm glad that you did finish it. In honor of TLoCP I'm going to start making an enviromental level and will try to keep my future levels simple, and enjoyable :)

Just played through (again) and this level definitely has repeat playthrough value! YAYS! That isn't easy to achieve, so very good work to you!
