The White Spire is a short adventure in which you must find your way up to the top of a sorcerer's tower in order to dispel a very nasty (and visually lacking) eternal night curse that was unleashed upon Juni's world.
It's basically your standard retro-themed challenge level. Two difficulty modes (Hard and Lunatic) are supported, and there are two? different endings you can get.

This level was made for the 2020 Un-epic Level Contest (https://nifflas.lp1.nl/index.php?topic=7207.0) hosted by Purple Ink. It's also the first level where I tried to compose my own soundtrack from scratch (just the main theme though). Hopefully the end result won't make anyone's ears bleed... too much :oops:
- Great little level! Loved the tileset and the music.
- Did not wear out its welcome.
- Several unique puzzles in here keep it feeling fresh and new.
- Reminiscent of other "classic" VG levels like The CGA Temple and Alcázar, and even Rhombodesia.
Found two of the shinies the first runthrough, and found the third pretty quickly reloading my last save. Loved that second ending, very cute, very Sierra!
A nice level. Reminds me I really need to play the CGA temple.
The music is great, I love the way it begins.
However, i got stuck, I just cannot make that jump for jump. I have all powers except jump and blue key, but I cannot get over the lake.
Thanks for the kind words, guys!
@Comhon:
Have you tried jumping from the left border of the wall (while clinging to it) instead of from the top? This way you won't bonk on the ceiling and lose altitude. It should be a lot easier to reach the high jump like that :)
@Talps: Hooray! Good thing my legal team advised me to go with white instead of light gray :shifty:
I'm always tempted to give the detector a more active role in challenges/puzzles instead of just using it for marking secrets (we need a "Detector Appreciation" thread here!). It's easy to get carried away though, and it's hard to get it to work well with nearby enemies/obstacles that make you glow red.
By the way, I wanted to say I updated the level to add both a minor bugfix and one of those weird, super-obscure easter egg thingies I personally enjoy probably a bit too much :P2 However, I noticed someone uploaded the level to the archive the day after the initial release. While it was probably done with good intentions, this is something I'd much rather do myself at some point (once I'm fairly sure I won't be including any new content nor bug fixes). I already got it sorted out thanks to J's help though, so no worries :)
Nice level, and music!
Places that should trigger the detector are too tiny (1 square) to see. I was expecting to glow green somewhere on umbrella screen, but still ran past them. Had to use the editor to find how to get the umbrella and consequently found the shift to the screen with secret ending book in the editor too. I doubt I wouldn't have found it otherwise anyway, because I checked going left in x1000y999 before getting the Detector.
I'm lost with the Lunatic path though. I can't get how to do the very first challenge with a shooting fish, I cheated through it for now, but now I've no idea how get the Eye.
