Use tileset0 as your base template and draw everything on top of it. Then, start erasing the blue-ish background colors (I use magic wand selection) and save your tileset as png. If you know how your graphics program work then you should try creating new layers (because its already transparent) and merge them once you're done drawing your tiles.


I started doing some of your tiles as an example, the black tileset should be transparent now.

I replaced goomba to spiny sprites. (why didnt I think of that  X)). Also, I decided to take out enemies in the first world and made it more of an exploration scenery. I think thats what people would love to do and I will probably add the challenges in the later worlds.

Update:

Added Inside Mario's House and Underground level.

I'm not going to imitate every level of a Mario game, if thats what you're worried about. Theres going to be a story behind it and other NPC to talk to like in other KS levels. For example, after I'm done with my other tilesets you will be able to get inside Mario's House and the castle in the end of the level. Inside the castle, you will find another doorway to get to another level or world.

My plan was to make the first few screens to look like Mario's "World" and then make a transition to the KS "World." Again, I'm still trying to think about a story and how I would execute this level. I'm open to suggestions on how to make this better.

So, it will still play like a KS level but just with smb style graphics. You'll not see goombas and piranha plants in every level (just the first few screens). If I wanted to create a Mario game imitation, I'd rather use a Mario engine or something similar.

I also decided to put other level on hold (Penumbra)  because I accidentally deleted its folder... <_<
I'll probably continue it after I'm done with this Mario level.

I tried that but it doesnt recognize the next other frames, it just shows the first frame and blinks on and off.

Yes, its the plant that comes out of the pipe but I think its better if we just make it stand still. I could just put it on top of the pipe or something and make it snap its jaws.

Is it possible to make this sprite smaller like 24x24? I was thinking of making this one work like a piranha plant but if its too much work then its ok as is.

I also need their spritesheets because I dont know how to extract them from the game and I need to know their frames/dimensions.

Can we also change the graphics of the default enemies (Meanies, etc.)? I'm trying to create a Mario level and I want to put goombas as one of the enemies. Can someone also upload KS enemy spritesheets, so I can use it as a template?

Can you be more specific about replacing the sound effects? Im really confused about this, I renamed my custom sound effect (like Knytt Jump) and placed it inside my custom character folder but I still cant get it to work. Please help :(

edit:

is it also possible to turn off sound effects? say if i dont want any sound playing when my character is walking or climbing...

I cant run or open KS manager/3rd party tools using the editor.

edit:

I tried the Exe/Data download and it works fine again. I dont know whats going on with the all in one source...

I was talking about example levels, i re-downloaded both levels last night and it worked.
