Development Showcase / [Game] Within a Deep Forest - Pico-8 Port
« on: June 19, 2020, 23:06:00 »
Hello! I have started development on a port of Within a Deep Forest for the Pico-8 fantasy console. I have also started a video log to keep track of my progress, and I thought you people would enjoy it! I have been a very big fan of Nifflas for a long time, and when I originally wanted to develop a game, I wanted to do something in that style, so I figured a port would be the best kind of practice. The only thing I need to actually learn is Lua code, since that is what Pico-8 uses. I have never programmed anything before, so that will be a challenge.

Here is the first dev log: https://youtu.be/2ShkRiH-UwE

I will be sure to update this whenever I post a new one, so you guys can stay in the loop.

We are in the same boat! I beat the game some time this year and loved it very much. I hope you get around to the PC version some time, because there really is a lot more good content on PC. I hope someday we get another Knytt game!

Granted, but now whenever you sleep, you will never good dreams, but you will have nightmares occasionally.

I wish I had unlimited money to spend on Magic the Gathering.

I just tried a re-install and it still did not work.

I'm not sure what the problem is. Like I said, the title music plays just fine, and when I start up a level, I can briefly hear the sound effects, and then it crashes.

#ModArchive Story / Game crashes on Windows 7?
« on: May 08, 2015, 03:31:32 »
I have been replaying old games I enjoy, and I really wanted to play this. However, every time I select a world, the game crashes.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the music, but the music loads fine for the first screens. Is this a problem for people on
newer computers?

Knytt Underground / Re: Trying to Download the Infinity Hype Update.

Maybe a lot of people were downloading it the moment I released and tweeted about it. Since you wrote your post, I think the bandwidth usage has eased a lot.

Yeah it got around to downloading. Thanks!

Granted, but the result is going to be the exact opposite of what you truly desire.

I wish I was at the peak of my physical condition.

And the download speeds are horrendous. I can normally download things around 1 MB per second, but when I start the download of this, the ETA goes from half an hour to one day! I'm downloading it from the ni2.se site, so I don't know if that could be an issue. Any ideas?

Oh man I can't thank you enough for releasing this. A lot of your music and DFast's are what really inspired me to get into music (along with Disasterpeace's FEZ and Rise of the Obsidian Interstellar.)

Well played!

Oh thank you!  C)p
I wanted to find something a little better for that ending riff rather than woodwinds, but it was what I had on hand at the time.

Development Showcase / Cover of Underwater Lab Tune in FL Studio.
« on: March 24, 2013, 10:45:50 »
I recently got a new MIDI keyboard, so I tried my hand at covering D Fast's Underwater Lab Tune from Within a Deep Forest. The piano and the strings are played in real time, so they can get a bit messy, but I figured that this would be a good exercise. Enjoy.

EDIT: Redid the strings to sound more polished and added a better ending. Enjoy!

Definitely buying this. After I heard the remixed tracks for

I had a massive braingasm. Question though; Did you remake those in ModPlug or did you use something with a bit more oomph (i.e. FL Studio, Reason)?
