New level, built in about ten days straight. It's very different from Warmth, if you've played it... this is mostly a puzzle game, with not much environmental work. There are many stages, with new blocks and power-ups appearing once you've climbed high enough. At this point, I've played it through close to ten times. This means I've beta tested myself, and it is indeed possible to conquer every screen. In other words, if you can't, be patient and try again.

I've pondered on digging new puzzle ideas, and hopefully some will be boggling and original.

Knytt Stories Level Releases / [Small/Environmental] - Warmth

Hey! My first release is all done! It should take you from 4 to 10 minutes to complete everything there is to do in there... so yes, it's small. But I worked for at least 3 weeks on it, it has good music, custom objects, and lots of testing done. It's the conclusion of an idea that was born months ago. So I sure hope you enjoy those minutes  C) (made my first warp flag too!)

On my next level, Metroid Landings, I haven't worked much for the past month, but I get new ideas occasionally and it remains my main project. I'll keep you updated.

Knytt Stories Level Previews / [Small/Environmental] - Warmth

I'll introduce my second (or first) KS project, Warmth. Actually, it's one of the two levels I had in mind when I joined this community. It's a small environmental level, made of 32 screens. Right now, 28 are done, so it's a matter of days! The graphics are somewhat minimalistic, but I think they look good and not drafty. I first wanted to make something about ice skating, and I kinda went along with that... lots of snow and ice. I added a bit of story. To summarize, it's about Johny, who feels lonely and takes a walk. (You'll see that there's no place around to get a haircut, so that explains the long hair...)

*Update: We're Sunday the 27th, I think I'll have the level finished for next week-end. I still have CC Music to find... at least 2 musics.

Knytt Stories Level Editing Support / Juni's sprite mod?

I wanted to know, is there any way I can modify Juni's sprite, other than the colors? I'm planning a level about ice skating, and I would like to draw simple skates or blades on her feet... it would just look strange, and out of subject, if she walks on the ice...

Oh, is anyone using AVG antivirus? Apparently software like Avast, AVG, McAfee, etc, detect a bunch of harmless temp. files as Trojan Agents. Yesterday's AVG update did this, so until they fix it, I have to disable it whenever I test my level in the editor... (KS is so "evil", I can't add it to the ignore list). It got me worried, and google browsing for a few hours  :/

Hi. I'm quite a fan of the Metroid series... I've seen a remake attempt of Super Metroid in the archives (Zebes), it looks nice, but very unfinished... so I'd like to finish my own Metroid level! I'm working from Zero Mission. I might focus slightly more on gameplay than on the graphics, since I already have to get used to manipulating tilesets. But this won't be a litteral translation, rather a Knytt world based on the maps and components of Metroid.

Storyline: Junis Aran beat the mother brain, leader of the Space pirates. As she was leaving the planet Zebes, her mission accomplished, a pirate gunship tracked her down. Her own spaceship was shot, and crashed on the planet. When she woke up, she was left defenseless and stranded... the enemies gone, presuming her dead. You have to explore areas around Zebes... maybe you'll find a way to escape.

Worked on the Ridley area lately! Hopefully, you'll be waiting more for "more" quality... if not, then you'll have hundreds more screens anyway. My creative glass is half full. OH BTW, I'm making my own music tracks for the level, isn't that great?!  ;)
