This level which I've been sporadically working on since last April, is quite close to completion (for part 1 only, I'm afraid).
It will be a city level, the point of it is being looking like Paris.
The story :
Fed up of having an adventurous life, Juni decides to go to the big city and start a normal life. But she will soon find out that things aren't simple as they should be...

YAAAAY, thank God you didn't give up on this
-
Oh wow, this looks pretty sweet man!
-
Yeah! Looks very nice!
-
You did a great job of capturing the city.
Keep it up! :)
-
Thanks all!

I remember this from the old forum... this looks fantastic! Do you still have the screenie of the rooftops (I think I remember seeing one)? That was great too...
As for the graffitti, what kinds are you after and what size? I imagine generally 1 tile, with some 2 tiles high? Let me know and I'll see what I can do.
-
This looks very good.
Are the buildings in the first screen supposed to be at a tilt?
edit: And are you going to be able to enter the buildings?

they look straight....
except for the gutter that looks like a building

I like how the town looks. It reminds me of Germany or some town in the centre of Europe.
-
Oh i forgot about this! :O
thank god your still continuing C)p
-
can't wait :)
-
Thanks for your enthousiasm, guys :D
-
I can't wait also... I didn't notice the screenshots had been updated. The tilesets are great - I love the MiniMart! And the park! Any vague eta?

Thanks. Actually those screenies were from the old forum, I have updated the tilesets since then. All the tilesets are made, for part 1, so al needs to be but together on KS manager.
Also, thanks again for your graffitis, Uther, these will be ingame too :D

How much will this level have to do with fractals?

How much will this level have to do with fractals?
Well, that's an excellent question. I guess that could only be answered when the level comes out, but I'm not even sure myself of which story plot I'm gonna choose.
But anyway the level I will release shortly will be a walk in town.
-
You used to have a screenie with a Gendarme van and a few gendarmes standing around it if i remember correctly... That was the screenshot that sold it for me when I saw it...
Good luck on this, you manage to make a convicing Paris without resorting to the Hollywoodian method of boiling it down to the Eiffel tower, and the Louvre.
-
It's pretty. :D
Not sure how fractals fit in though.

*bumps through* I must release this level soon, since I started it in april 2008. All the tilesets are finished, I just need putting things right. I'd be happy if I had 1 beta-tester, though, for motivation. Thanks for response. :)

I could beta test if you want :D

I'd love to beta-test for you too :O

Well...I haven't touched this level for months, and I sorted out the map is in a real mess, with no links between different parts, and abandonned section. I actually think this needs cleaning before it would be useful for beta-testing.
I feel kindda stupid, sorry...

No worries. Whenever you feel it's ready I'm willing to beta-test ;)

This looks insanely awesome. Please do finish it! (I totally understand taking your time about it, though - there's no use in rushing a job you want to be done properly.)
-
Hmm, I see the last post in this topic was made by me, too. And posting something that is essentially redundant, after a *year*, may seem futile. But, nevermind. I like what I've seen of this level so far too much. So:
Any news at all about this, Teper? Because it's stunning, and I WANT to play it.
-
Wow, I can't believe I've missed something as big as this. Please finish it, Teper! It's incredible stuff!
-
Reading through this thread again, I see progress seems to have been a bit... rocky. Does that, plus the lack of news for so long, mean the level is dead? And if so, would it be possible to, maybe, patch some parts of it together to form something smaller and less perfect than you initially planned, so that we could at least wander around the 'neighbourhood' a bit? It would be such a shame if nobody could ever 'visit' this beautiful place you've built.
(Incidentally, I would absolutely love for people who abandon a project to at least release an imperfect version of it so people can have a look - like minmay did with Small Worlds. So, anyone who reads this and has an unreleased, abandoned project lying around, think about releasing it, please?)
-
Again, thank you Hmpf for bringing old level threads to our attention.
-
I forgot about this agian! silly me
this has not died has it?
-
So many magnificent levels are never finished... The thought almost drives me to work up the patience to finish mine, but... Maaan it's so hard :(
-
Just do whatever you can. I Just do 2 hours a week man. It's slow, but totally doable.
-
Just as with Bergsteigung Expanded, I really, really hope this sees the light of the day eventually. Or at least a beta of some sort with those beautiful tilesets? Eh... :moody:
