Description:
Iji is an action-packed platform shooter by Daniel Remar. Iji, the protagonist, visits her dad at work, when she sees a flash of light outside. She later wakes up to find out the building has been invaded by an alien race called the Tasen. Equipped with their technology, she sets out to try and get them to leave. This is an excellent game with an awesome story, lots of weapon choices, and a unique level-up system. The story of the game also changes depending on how many kills you make, and it's full of secrets. It's also won multiple indie game of the year awards for 2008. Definitely a game worth playing (and re-playing ;)).

Have fun. ;)
Ahem. I found this about an hour ago, thought I might play for a couple minutes...and as you can tell, I've been playing it non-stop! This game is win. I also like how it changes your personality depending on how many aliens you kill. That's cool. :o EDIT: Hm. Maybe I was wrong. I beat the first two sectors without killing anybody (only doing a total of...11 damage? Somewhere around that.) and it was the same. Before, I was killing a LOT! :D
EDIT: I'd like to take a moment to say IJI'S MUSIC PWNS! Especially the drums. I'm a fan of drums, and I wouldn't mind learning to play. :o
EDIT2: Only read this if you've beaten the game!
The ending is sad. It's also sad how she goes semi-crazy when Dan dies, and then the final boss guy (I forgot his name) tells her that he's fine. It took me a couple seconds to realize that she was talking to herself as soon as he (Dan) dies. :( Also, the secrets are really hard to get to. <_< I only found one poster, and I can't get to those swirly things that look like those super power-ups, but aren't. I dunno what they are, but they're tempting. :o
You know you can prevent Dan's death, right? It makes the ending a lot less sad.
Also, I believe the damage counter refers to how much damage Iji takes, rather than how much she deals to others.

Really? o.0 *goes to replay Iji*
And things do change depending on how many enemies you kill.
Less than 5 per sector will trigger most of the pacifist modifiers; the truce in Sector 3 (and the resulting autokilling of Krotera if you don't break it), a possible encounter with Anaksie, fewer/different enemies to deal with, stuff like that. More than 26 per sector counts as genocidal, which isn't really much different from between 5 and 26 for gameplay purposes, but it'll change dialogue and such.
If you actually end up with no kills, you will get some awesome things!
The first time I beat the game I did it with 0 kills. (I had to replay several sectors 'cos I accidentally killed a few people.) I was disappointed that there aren't any unlockables associated with a kill count of 0, especially since getting 0 kills is probably harder than some of the other unlock conditions.
The plot changes were worth it, though. I like how most of the bosses are kept in, and the backstory material explaining the motivations of different people and factions kept the loophole killings (that is, Iji is still an accessory to the murder, but doesn't actually kill anyone herself) from feeling too contrived.
I really expected to see those three Tasen that escaped again, though. And Anaksie. And I don't mean just by way of logbooks.

There are, depending on your definition of "unlockables." Or rather, there is.
I'm not talking about the Massacre weapon.
:D Yay.
I beat it with 0 kills on Hard. :U It was...kinda hard...But the final boss was kinda easy after I already beat him on Easy. :/ And the ending was kinda different, but not totally different. :/ But it was cool, 'cause I unlocked Hero 3D and Sudden Death Sector! :U
I've played this game earlier in my time here, and I can safely say I never had too much of a pain with the pacifist run. The things to do to keep the kill count at zero on the other hand, isn't too easy, especially with the fact of not having a high enough tasen and komato weapon level, and...
had to nano reboot myself to disgrace Assassin Asha, as the second time to fight is a kill unfortunately.
Right now, I am working on a bloodthirsty killing spree run with this, but is on hold at the moment due to a project of mine. I might even consider a Tileset or two dedicated to Iji.
Krotera: If you have version 1.3 or later, don't break the truce in Sector 3. You will get a time penalty, so not suitable for speedruns.
Asha, first time: You didn't kill him, so it doesn't count as a kill. Logic!
Sentinel: It's a robot. You can hardly call someone a murderer for destroying a robot.
Iosa: If you have version 1.3 or later, go into and through Deep Sector. You still have to fight Iosa, mind you, although the first part will be a bit easier.
Asha, second time: Don't fight him at all. Use the Velocithor to blow up the power core through the doors. This cannot be done on Ultimortal.
General Tor: Again, you didn't actually kill him.

...Heh...I killed Asha, and that's it. I forgot about the Velocithor being able to go throgh walls. *goes to do this again*
XD I just unlocked the...
Banana Gun! Thing is, I don't like it much. :/ It'd be good for the final boss, though!

The Banana Gun is deliberately useless- there is nowhere in the game where using it is worth it. It's worth the novelty value of a couple shots, though.

The banana gun has only one use: if you use it to land the last hit on Tor, you get an easter egg.
I'm trying to get the 0 kills thing right now. But I can't because
I always end up killing the soldier at the end of level 8.

That doesn't count as a kill, unless it changed in 1.6.

Okay. I check my stats at the end of level 8. 0 kills. I walk up to Dan. Asha grabs Dan. Soldier appear. I shoot him. Asha shocks Dan. I skip cutscene. Ending stats: 1 kill.
Oh, sorry, I assumed you were saving Dan by putting the Trapmine on the teleporter, not letting him die. Yeah, you have to kill the soldier with the Trapmine rather than your gun, then it won't count. Kind of stupid, but I guess it's expected that everyone doing 0-kill runs will choose to save him anyway.
What's the trap mine?
Explore the level. Really, you should be exploring the levels as completely as possible in general, but ESPECIALLY in a pacifist run where you need to find all the nano energy you can. Also you'll find the Trapmine.
You can actually SHOOT the guy you're supposed to kill with the trapmine? Really? How?
=|=
Yes, if you don't place it at all you end up shooting him in the cutscene instead, which is what allows Asha to kill Dan in the first place.

'kay. Just tell me if it's in a security box, 'cause I seldom open security boxes. Except for the CICS or whatever. I couldn't find that lying on the ground.

I agree with this spoiler.
No, I'm not talking about the no kills run I've been having so much trouble with. This is the blast everyone to high Heck run I've been having fun with.
I found the first nine posters. After trying for a while to get the 10th one, I decided to just look up the solution online. It said I had to use the splinter gun to break the glass. But I thought I did try the splinter gun and it didn't work.
Edit: Triple post condensed into one.
I can't stop playing this game. -.- Is it possible to get 100 cracks without cracking enemies as well? The best I can muster is 80. (81, but an elite got in front of a terminal and it thought I wanted to crack him.)
