Title: [Request] Lever
Post by: yohji on April 08, 2010, 18:28:47
Hello everyone,

could anyone draw a couple of simple COs for me (or a tileset of two tiles)? Basically, I just need a lever in two positions, i.e. ON and OFF. It has to be grey, with a red handle. Or maybe some other handle, but definitely grey for the most part. Just like the one that turns of the evil machine in The Machine. Can't just use that one, since I need two levers on a single screen, and Nifflas's tilesets only have one per tileset. Can't edit the levers out either, I'm horrible at pixel art and screw up every time I try creating tilesets :(

Why not use both machine tilesets?

Why not use both machine tilesets?

Because there's already one tileset on the screen, the one I'm using for the rest of the level. So I can only use one machine tileset at a time, and if I do, there can be only one lever per screen (because if you pull one lever and trigger a shift, all the levers change, not just the one you pulled). I need two independent levers on a single screen.

Wow, that was quick! Thanks! But KS refuses to accept the tileset file, it says "Fully transparent tiles were found"... Yet when I open it in Paint there are all kinds of tiles? O_o

Seriously yohji, read this topic. How to Draw Simple Tilesets by minmay (http://nifflas.lpchip.nl/index.php?topic=1742.0)

I fixed it for you too.

Thanks! I did read that topic and went as far as to install GIMP, but I had innumerable problems with transparency there. Making one small sign is all I was ever able to accomplish... maybe it's time I tried Paint.NET, hmm.

Or, if you just want a standalone lever, have a nice custom object version. Here's the settings:

Put the two custom objects into worlds/<level name>/Custom Objects and stick this into world.ini:

Credits to Nifflas for "The Cave and the Machine" Tilesets which I pulled the levers from.

I love you. This is just what I needed. Thank you!
